The Promenade Deck, deck 7 on the Sun Princess. This was the closest thing to old-fashioned cruising. I love these decks, and I spent many a day falling asleep on a deck chair with a book in my hand.

Taken at Valla Park rod run in 1996, I'm a bit unsure of this as I haven't seen to many of these before, could possibly be a Model T turtle deck roadster with a 1932 grille, any comments welcome.

This picture was taken from a deck on the back of our house. I keep telling myself, I should not keep taking the same picture but it is not the same picture. Nature just keeps changing the scene. One month ago, it was a fall scene with colored leaves. A few weeks later it was bare trees and boaters taking the last ride of the season. Then it was ice and snow covered ice with patterns of expansion cracks and small animal tracks. Later as the ice got thicker the animal tracks were replaced with the herringbone tracks of cross country skiers. Now with a warm spell we have water covered ice.

700 sq. ft. multi-level deck with roof structure. We installed sunlights and fans in the roof structure over the kitchen area. The kitchen area is faced with cultured stone. The seating area is flush with the top of the built in planter boxes giving a feeling of being on the ground while still being a few steps over ground level to keep an eye on guests in the pool.
Just upgraded my Olympus E-PL2 to an E-M10 and took a few test shots recently in my garden.

680 sq. ft. Trex deck in 2 complimenting colors. Built in planter boxes are a nice alternative in place of railing around the seating area which is defined by being a step up from the eating area. The darker borders and the 2-toned steps make this deck stand out from any other.
In addition to the gorgeous two-story deck in this picture, our house had an ugly above-ground pool surrounded by an additional deck that took up most of the yard when we moved in. We've been working hard to get that taken down. We used pieces from the pool deck to create these daybeds. I stained them and the floor of the deck in this picture chocolate and topped them with some old twin mattresses a friend gave me. Trying to teach the dogs not to get up on them, but it's a losing battle, since all three want to sit with us (my poodle and dobie, plus my friend Erin's dog Max). Just going to buy lots of white sheets - thank God for bleach! Keep clicking to see the before pics.
