A random snapshot of the Christmas decorations that are out in front yard (and porch) in front of my Aunt Tammie's (and Uncle Dennis') house that is across the street from my house in Brookhaven, Mississippi. (3rd of December, 2024)

My Aunt Tammie and Uncle Dennis like to wait until after Thanksgiving to put out their Christmas decorations as well as putting their Christmas tree up in their living room.

My fiance and I got bored one weekend and here is the outcome. We still have to put the roof on it and screen in between roof and wall. I work for a pallet company and I can get all the used pallets and lumber I want. So far we have done this deck and I did a driveway fence but now that I found this site... I'm sure there will many more projects in the near future!

These are the ratty steps to my ratty deck. They looked even worse the other day than then did when I took this photo in March. Bowed much worse than this photo shows, a chunk gone out of the top one and the support rails were split so I couldn't just add new boards.

John says "the roof gods smiled on us". The decking is solid and sound. No gaps here as was expected by many "in the know". So that's a very good thing! We can just nail the new shingles right onto the original roof without purchasing 20 square of plywood!
