Decking the Luribay side. This took time because only having a pull cable on the upstream side here misaligned the crossbeams and suspenders. The crossbeams had to be manuevered into place by hand, one by one.

Following the lift, RIPTIDE was taken to the washdown station.
RIPTIDE was built in 1927 by the Schertzer Boat and Machine Company, then located on the north end of Lake Union in Seattle. She is 47 feet long with a beam of just over 11 feet and a draft of approximately four feet, planked in port orford cedar riveted to white oak frames. She is powered by a 1967 Volvo MD-70A diesel engine.

Deck of Fragata A.R.A. "Presidente Sarmiento" (built 1897 in England), Buenos Aires, Argentina
The ship made 37 voyages as a training ship of the Argentine Navy between 1899 and 1938 and is a museum since 1962.
Was walking past this void deck one day when I realised that this family had "conquered" part of their void deck! The area is easily the size of their flat. Impressed. :)
Vertical posts in rows make me weak in the knees!!!

The older girls and I played the heck out of Dominion, the classic deck builder, a few summers ago. I was excited when the 11yo suggested the other night that we break it out again!

It's a big deck on a big boat, but it was only 6mm out at the far corner.
I know these four shots are not that interesting, but I'm looking for work at the moment and need some shots to show people what I do.
Pu the first coat of Interdeck on yesterday. It went on very well, but there are some lighter areas which may need a second coat. I still have to finish the cockpit, but i'm hopeful that two 75cl tins will do it all.
I also fitted the blue sprayhood (there was a maroon one on when I bought her). It's nice starting to put things back on!
Photo from my brother's shack and deck he built out in Burnt Timber, Alberta.
This is the main deck, built purely of downed trees and scrap from his various carpentry jobs. The close edge is just a foot off the ground, but since it's built on a steep hill, the far end is about 12 feet off the ground.
