This is a back view of the house I built in Flint, MI. The basement is a walk-out with a doorwall that leads to a lower deck. Then there is a staircase that leads to the upper deck and the doorwall goes into the dining / living area.

New stairs going up. These stairs are rock solid. Compare them to the previous stairs, or lack of them, earlier in the series. I turns out the reason the landing fell apart was that the previous deck had no cement: it was literally sitting in holes in the ground. As the boards broke, the deck was slowly twisting away from the house, tearing off and eventually, would have collapsed.

I think I'm going to spend a lot of time on the deck.

This deck stayed empty for most of the cruise. Towards the latter part of the week passengers used it to view Glacier Bay and to enjoy the shining sun in Ketchikan.

This is a deck that overlooks the reception area. Behind us is the path that leads towards the cabins. There is also a 12 person jacuzzi behind us, and to the right up a hill is the kitchen.
