It was nearly 40C with the humidex on this day, the last day at home before our honeymoon on Hornby Island. We ate dinner out on the deck with dragonflies filling the sky above.
These are pictures from 2006. Wanted to reload them to the flickr account.
We had a new deck installed by Decks By JRW in Seattle, WA back in 2996. This is the old deck.

I found it ironic that we were asked to use only our junk mail to do this project.
MY problem area lies in PILES of papers. I tend to accumulate catalogs and school papers and papers I need to sift through, bills, etc....and while I organize them...before I know it I have MANY piles or stacks all around that need to be take care of. I sometimes feel I am surrounded by the stuff and drowning in a pool of papers, catalogs, to-do lists, etc. I love all of it, but have to learn to address ANY mail coming into my home immediately, sort it, dump some of it, and be realistic about the fact that some of it I may never get to or look at, so they really need to be dumped too. I also have problems tossing magazines.....or catalogs. Especially magazines with recipes or photographs.
SO my JUNK that can make me feel overwhelmed from time to time and never fully TOGETHER.......would be an overflow of incoming papers/mail/catalogs
It was sunny I painted the little deck with a nice shade of green special floor & deck paint in the afternoon. The fog was down at the edge of the ocean. Almost immediately after I finished the fog swooped in. the next morning it was awash in water, which I eventually mopped off, but first I enjoyed the impressionist water painting. I photographed some details for my friends who use 'texture for layers' in their photo work.

The new deck built by Thomas Construction came out great. They did a really good job of showing up early, delivering on their promise to use very high quality materials, and getting the job done even faster than they said they would. It was expensive, but we felt like we got good value and excellent service.
