With many people at First Dining, Deck 11 was prepared for Pirate Night festivities. Crew members had just finished covering the pools to create a large entertainment area for people to watch the show.

In actuality, she still has her breeding colors and plumage and is just showing off a little before she settles in on the eggs in the nest beneath her. I managed to get a few more calm portraits (in the comments below) as the breezy day swirled the elegant plumage around her ~ Great Egret ~ FL Wetlands

This oozing fungal leaf blight "spotted" on plantings surrounding Premier Surgical Center, Louisville, KY. Many times the stench around the overflowing dumpster there is unbearable. Not sure what is disposed there. It is at times much worse than the foul-smelling emissions emanating from the local kidney dialysis outpatient facilities here in Kentucky.

I potted all kinds of annual flowers this year in the planters that go around the back deck railings, I wanted to see lots of different colors every way you looked.

This view would once have over looked Runcorns busy boat building yards which could not really function when they built the Manchester Ship canal which you see here. The Deck apartments now sit along the canal. In front of you was the site of the old ferry crossing and later the Transporter bridge. Old Quay swingbridge can be seen in the background

I decided to do a little set this year posting one Polaroid each day until Christmas shooting all things holiday related. It's a litter bittersweet with this being the last year Polaroid is making the film, but I couldn't think of a better time to do it. I hope you enjoy it!
