Here's a another view of an abandoned house in the ghost town of Hardman. Although it looked great in color, i think this b&w fits it well.

One of my very first shots (not taken with a toy camera, that is). I still find it very interesting, although it is hard to describe why. Simply said, to me, it symbolizes decay.
Graffiti and decay from the Squirrel Cage historic jail in Council Bluffs, Iowa. These aren't great photos, but the subject matter is interesting:
The patented design allowed one jailer to rotate the entire, three-story cylinder (and all its prisoners) around in a circle using just a hand crank. The jail held 63 prisoners who could not leave their cells unless their cell was cranked around to the doorway. Built in 1885 for about $30,000, safety concerns eventually led the jail to be modified away from the original rotary configuration. The county quit using the jail altogether in the 1960s.

Decaying docks along the San Francisco Bay waterfront
Early on a late-spring morning I arrived in San Francisco on the train, reaching the waterfront area not too long after sunrise and then exploring on foot. I wandered over into the China Basin area, which is currently a hotbed of construction projects. This formerly almost abandoned area is now the location of many new buildings and projects.
I passed through those areas and soon arrived at the waterfront, which so far does not show much of the newness that is found a bit further from the shoreline. Here a rocky breakwater runs along the edge of the water, and old broken down piers sag above and sometimes into the water. Out on the bay there are tankers moored on the horizon, and the brilliant morning sun was rising above a thin fog back on the east side of the bay. For some odd reason, an old lawn chair sets near one end of this rickety dock.

the sky was pretty dull today when I came across this old shack, I have added this sky from another photo to add some color to it.
I almost did'nt see this old abandoned 60s Plymouth. I thought it looked a little out of place in this jungle of moss and trees.

Two detail shots of Castlehill Church which is slowly decaying on Forres High St. I was totally over lensed, so these were taken from well back with the 100-400mm. It's a shame to see a beautiful building slip into ruin, but the decay has a fantastic gothic quality that screams out for a high contrast black and white.
Every trip I make to west park, this window captures my attention. I'm not sure if it is because of the obvious decay and mold/fugus or the brillant light it provides.
When the dark storm clouds dumps it's load of rain, the damaged roof will make this abandoned barn decay even more.
Oregon's, had unseasonably cool wet weather since May 15th. Things are so soggy, some of my garden plants have died.
