Central, Or.
Old smoke houses from the days of Mackrel fishing. Used as engineering shops these days. Liked the way the paint has washed off the building onto the ground
Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you... Urban Decay.
It's got a little bit of everything. Interesting point to note. While the closest building was demolished.. the one further back will remain and is still in use. That is a backview of the building that once upon a time was the Kemp Bank. I'd say back in the days of Bonnie and Clyde. If Bonnie was really jailed here. could her intentions have been to rob that bank?
Decaying office building, on Mare Island. Gels and strobes provided by RZ68 and williepr08. This photo walk was a hoot.
here is a taste of a capitalist market economy with a recent emergence in its industrialized market.
in the foreground, is a newly constructed pedestrian walkway with escalator. behind it is a concrete/aggregate processing plant and just immediately next to it is a shantytown with a nice patch of trees. all this is right smack in the middle of the city.
is this actually an improvement or just part of city planning?
Found along the abandoned railroad that runs along the side of the building that had the mattresses.

The empty houses are the target of vandalism and natural decay. Homes that are not maintained eventually also fall prey to the forces of nature. Houses have been boarded up to prevent vandalism. In some cases, beautiful graffiti has been applied to the buildings. This has not prevented other painters from applying their often less attractive work on walls, doors, shutters and other objects. You also see that in quite a few places windows have been smashed and people have entered the houses.
