shot in Zeitz Germany in a wonderful church. we like the mood in this old building

I took this photo almost as an afterthought, later when I viewed it on my computer - I was amazed at the beauty of this old decayed fence post. I am so glad that I captured this image, because a few days later, the neighbors removed this old fence and replaced it with a more functional new fence that has no character.

El Vedado, La Habana, Cuba.

• El Vedado neighborhood. Vedado is bordered to the east by Central Havana district and west by the Miramar district, just north of Plaza de la Revolución, the central administrative division of the Cuban government. In early colonial times, it was forbidden to build on these lands to be able to see at far the enemy fleets coming. Hence the name of Vedado, which means forbidden in Spanish.

Au début de la période coloniale, il était interdit de construire sur ces terrains afin de voir venir de loin toute flotte ennemie. D’où le nom de Vedado, qui signifie interdit en espagnol.

Lindisfarne / Holy Island, Northumberland, England

I'm not a great one for B&W images but every so often I find a scene where I think it just looks 'right' and this is one of them.

The picturesque island of Lindisfarne is home to an incredible collection of storage sheds cleverly fashioned from upturned old fishing boats. Local fishermen apparently considered it a sin to send boats to the junkyard. Luckily for us Togs, they instead found a way to transform their old herring boats into perfect little storage sheds for their nets, tools, and other equipment.

Macro Mondays

One of the more neglected parts of Blackburn..and there are plenty of them! Pity as this leads to the lovely cathedral. Taken from the cathedral side. I nevertheless find beauty in all the different textures..view large to apreciate them.

This tree stump has been lying submerged and hidden from view for who knows how long, and only now when the water levels dropped dramatically in the reservoir is it revealed.
