In Duluth, people are fond of upending driftwood trees, roots upward, on the beach. I think of them as lake totems.

This is what happens when hot spring water starts flowing by established trees and they start drinking it up. Sad...

The crows nest on the end of this old tree, just made me smile so I tried to capture it.

An old tree in our backyard, taken from uphill. The way the wood breaks off to form spires just speaks strength to me.

This tree is a pretty clear sign. We ignored it.
