I had gone on a Wanderlust outing into the country. On a bend in the road, I stopped, arrested by the striking form of this dead tree.

An old tree in our backyard, taken from uphill. The way the wood breaks off to form spires just speaks strength to me.

Jack and I went for a photo-walk through the Castlewood Canyon State Park south of Parker, CO this morning.

This tree has been dead a couple of years and fell down in the bad storm that blew through Cedar Park on 06/10/2009.
