Another on my way to work photos.
I spotted this dead tree weeks, Months ago and thought some day I will stop and take a shot. It was interesting because next to it is another citrus tree that is doing fine.
I doubt if they are getting any water other than when it rains.
There is an irrigation ditch but I don't think it gets used because the field behind it hasn't been planted in at least a year.
Survival of the fittest I guess.
Took this shot out in Sierra De Las Uvas, west of Las Cruces. If anyone goes hiking out there, let me know if you find my lens hood, the one in this photo. Lost it somewhere out there. The only one I had.
There was nothing special about this scene when I first laid eyes on it, but my whole perspective changed as soon as I viewed through my ultra-wide angle lens (Sigma 10-20mm). Depth of field just goes on forever and that dead tree took on a more interesting detailed appeal. This was in the wooded area near Po'olenalena Beach.
Surreal and distorted? Yes, but definitely not uninteresting.
Bunch of cockatoos decided to perch on the dead tree out the back after it rained... then it rained more and they flew away :(
I like the plane in the background :)
Nice, old dead tree at the park....dead trees are very benificial to a lot of wildlife, but most parks will cut down the deadwood.
