Using sheep as municipal lawnmowers

The Dresden Frauenkirche church at Neumarkt was destroyed in the bombing of Dresden during World War II. The remaining ruins were left for 50 years as a war memorial, following decisions of local East German leaders. The church was rebuilt after the reunification of Germany, starting in 1994. The reconstruction of its exterior was completed in 2004, and the interior in 2005.

A fabulous line-up of former Deutsche Reichsbahn workhorses at the Wittenberge depot/museum on4th May 2013. Four Class '50.35' 2-10-0s, 50 3624-9, 50 3682-7, 50 3570-4 and 50 3685-0, plus 'V180' Class 1968-built diesel-hydraulic No.118 692-3 complete a pleasing DDR 'Ostalgia' look to the scene.

Originalmente, la aerolínea nacional de Alemania del Este era llamada Deutsche Lufthansa (oficialmente Deutsche Lufthansa GmBH der DDR), pero encontró oposición por parte de Alemania Occidental, con lo cual después de un juicio llevado a cabo en Berna se le entregó la marca Lufthansa a la empresa germana occidental.
