With roots dating back to 1873, the Rutledge Home name is deeply embedded in the Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin community.
As a memorial to his wife, Hannah, and a desire to provide shelter and care for the aged, Mr. Edward Rutledge, bequeathed funds in his will for the construction of The Hannah M. Rutledge Home for the Aged. Construction took place from 1910-1913, and on May 1, 1913 the home opened at 300 Bridgewater Avenue in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. Those that moved in could stay at Rutledge Home for as long as they needed, under the condition they turned over all of their assets to Rutledge Charities upon their passing.
I can't think of a more perfect place for a date than on the Oregon coast at sunset.
I am sure the couple that I captured in this image were thinking the same thing. :-)

Dating back to the 13th century this fortress was built on a remnant volcano that once overlooked one of the wealthiest towns in the Balkans. Novobërdë was the site of abundant gold and silver mines. Today the castle is in a state of ruins but is currently being repaired. The view of the mountains it oversees is quite impressive.

Summary:
Originally native to Ontario, the trumpeter swan disappeared from Eastern Canada early in the 20th century. Restoration efforts were initiated in the early 1980's to reintroduce the trumpeter swan to its former range. Through conservation efforts the Ontario population has now reached 1000, with at least 131 breeding pairs, and the future looks bright.

It's mating season for short horned, green grasshoppers. And this bunch of allium seed heads looked like the dance floor at the prom - there were half a dozen grasshoppers dressed in their finest and looking for love.

184/365: A day out to Elk Island with Monique and her husband who very kindly acted as chauffeur. We saw a bison strolling along the middle of the road...so exciting to see such an amazing creature. I did get some shots but they aren't amazing. May post one at some point but they are more record shots than anything.
We saw this Sikh temple on our way back though and liked the look of it against the sky...we had a fair bit of rain. Note the bird on top.

It has been pointed out that my dates do not correspond with the correct day of the 365. I didn't change my time/date on my camera as I just know I will forget to change it back when I get home. So I hope this is all acceptable for the 365 challenge. I am not always able to post on time so it's confusing. I am pretty sure I haven't missed a day out though.
Dating from the late 1940s, and based on the German SG 38 'Schulgleiter', this EoN 'Primary' was a very basic training glider used by schools and the RAF.
Just catching up and enjoying some quality time together after a busy work week. Saturdays are the best days and I have the best partner ♥
