Phoenix dactylifera, commonly known as date or date palm, is a flowering plant species in the palm family, Arecaceae, cultivated for its edible sweet fruit. Although its exact place of origin is uncertain because of long cultivation, it probably originated from the Fertile Crescent region straddling between Egypt and Mesopotamia. The species is widely cultivated across Northern Africa, the Middle East, the Horn of Africa and South Asia, and is naturalized in many tropical and subtropical regions worldwide.P. dactylifera is the type species of genus Phoenix, which contains 12–19 species of wild date palms, and is the major source of commercial production.
Date trees typically reach about 21–23 metres (69–75 ft) in height, growing singly or forming a clump with several stems from a single root system. Date fruits (dates) are oval-cylindrical, 3 to 7 centimetres (1.2 to 2.8 in) long, and about 2.5 centimetres (0.98 in) in diameter, ranging from bright red to bright yellow in colour, depending on variety. They are very sweet, containing about 75 percent of sugar when dried.
Dates have been a staple food of the Middle East and the Indus Valley for thousands of years. There is archaeological evidence of date cultivation in Arabia from the 6th millennium BCE. The total annual world production of dates amounts to 8.5 million metric tons, countries of the Middle East and North Africa being the largest producers.

Even I might have been tempted to attend to a venue like this. Great Bibby advert. At the time of posting the photo Bibby seems to still operate in Carmarthen, so maybe a clue.

HEAD MOLD: 2010 "Fashionistas Barbie"
PERSONAL FUN FACT: I have to say that this Barbie stole my heart the first time I laid eyes on her around Christmas 2018. Colleen and I were cruising the toy section at our local Wal-Mart, hoping to find on sale Harry Potter dollies. As we wandered the aisle, I spotted a copious amount of these Pioneer Woman Barbies on display. My first thought was, "Holy crap, this is the coolest idea ever!" In my travels in home ware sections at stores, I often come across The Pioneer Woman merchandise, and here and there I may have even bought something (like one of those jar cups with lid/straw combos). I always thought that the designs of the items were cute, even if things were often over priced. To think that The Pioneer Woman is so popular that she inspired a Barbie in her image is WAY cool! I am a sucker for any sort of celebrity/pop culture doll. And the fact that The Pioneer Woman, aka Ree Drummond, is famous for homey stuff, makes this doll even more awesome to me. Martha Stewart Barbie much?!!! Anyways, I love that this cutie has red hair like Ree and additional freckles. Even if she wasn't sold with a temptingly huge kitchen set choked full of loads of dolly sized food, I still would have been intrigued. I desperately hoped that this doll would go on some kind of sale so I could add her to my collection someday. She was originally marked at $45, which quite frankly is way out of my price range (and even if I did have nearly $50 to blow on one doll, I wouldn't spend it on a Barbie). I started losing hope that there would be any sort of markdown on these sets. Then one early morning in May 2019, I happened to strike luck. I was doing my routine Friday morning grocery run to Wal-Mart, when I popped in the toy section. I don't make a habit of this, mostly because Barbie stuff doesn't go on sales too often, and Monster High and Bratz aren't sold anymore. But on this occasion I needed to look at fashion packs, to see if I could find something to fit my newly acquired, very nude, curvy Barbie. After picking out an adorable Chococat inspired fashion for Miss Chambray Chic, I scoped out the other toys. It was on the bottom shelf beneath the Harry Potter and Disney dolls that I found a lone Pioneer Woman box. I figured, "what the heck, I'll check her price to see if she's on sale." I thought that maybe she'd be $30 now, still more than I wanted to pay. But lo and behold, when I scanned her, Barbie rang up at FIFTEEN DOLLARS! I was so shocked, that I double checked, thinking there had to be a mistake. Nope, she was indeed only $15, which was exactly what my cheap self wanted to pay. I was so excited that even took a picture of Barbie and told Colleen of the find. She told me later that she was distracted all day at work, thinking of this fabulous Pioneer Woman doll. Out of the box, this gal is just as stunning. Her hair felt gross upon first inspection, but a boil wash revealed stunning, saran tresses. I love her closed lip head mold too. I think it fits this doll more so than Barbie's toothy, cheesy head mold would have. It's not all that often that a Barbie tempts me as much as this doll. I even looked for her online to see if I could get a deal. But I'm so glad I waited patiently, because I got her for such a steal. Did I need yet another Barbie kitchen? Absolutely not, but this has to be one of the most unique doll concepts I have ever seen!

BOX DATE: 2019
MANUFACTURER: Mattel
DOLLS IN LINE: Emberly; Fernessa & Furrah pack; Roaralai; Tella
BODY TYPE: 2020
HEAD MOLD: 2019 "Furrah"; open mouth
PERSONAL FUN FACT: Furrah is one of the most adorable baby dolls I have ever seen. She's a wonderful hybrid between a Monster High kid and a Kelly doll. Her purple afro hair and cartoonish eyes are reminiscent of one of the Monster High little sisters. However, I've noticed that Cave Club dolls have more lively expressions than Monster High. By this I mean that they look less like stenciled facial features, and are more detailed. Admittedly it was Furrah's presence in the Wild About Babysitting pack that drew me in. I've always been drawn to baby/toddler dolls, ever since I was little. I think back then, my obsession was due to the fact that I loved playing mother. I treated my Bitty Baby doll like she was my actual baby, and I enjoyed showing the same realism with my Barbie babies/kids. I knew very little about the Cave Club franchise when I first spotted the Wild About Babysitting set at Target at the end of 2020. I didn't have any remote idea that Mattel had expanded the line to include a little sister. Needless to say, I was intrigued. There was just one set left at Target, and I was SO tempted to buy it. Furrah's innocent gaze and amazing hair, paired with the gorgeous older sister and awesome accessories were alluring. However, I didn't think it was an appropriate use of our Target gift card to purchase a $20 doll set....when previously I'd paid the Cave Club no attention. I tried to be reasonable with my money, but this amazing pack was something I could not shake. Once we were at home, I ogled the dolls more online. I even glanced at the other Cave Club dolls that were available. About a week later, I ended up caving (pun intended) and I snagged this set on Amazon. Colleen and I also purchased the Wild About BBQs set with Emberly while we were at it (hey, we "needed" to qualify for that free shipping). This set was marked down to around $15, and I saved a little more because I got mine via the Amazon Warehouse. It was a return of some kind, with slightly damaged packaging. There was just no way I could have a Cave Club collection without the two dolls that were the reason I noticed them at all! Furrah is without a doubt one of the top ten cutest small dollies in my collection. She reminds me of the Monster High Wolf family in some way (similar skin tone and purple hair)...this makes her even more precious in my opinion! I should also note that I love the leaf like freckles on her face--they make me think of the leaf design from the movie Pocahontas!
