I took a photo of a dandelion and played with it a bit. I really liked the resulting bokeh though you need to view the image large on black to see it properly.
HBW to you all and happy hump day! Thanks as always for the inspiration, comments and invites!
This king of the beasts loved the field of small flowers he was sitting in. Who knew lions liked flowers? He'd nip at the small yellow dandelions and blue johnny jump ups and was generally rolling around with delight.
This white lion was at the Cincinnati Zoo - our next stop after Columbus. I couldn't believe the aqua eyes on him. This was shot through trees, so that is the cause of the green in the foreground.
It was a rainy drizzling day, but we didn't get really wet at all. I can't say enough good things about the Cincinnati Zoo - wonderful animals, exhibits and beautiful flowers too. We had a great time there.
Sorry I missed everyone yesterday - out of town all day and it was too late to surf/post when I got back.
HBW!

I have never seen dandelions as large as these! They were incredible.
We recently stayed in a cabin on Lake Huron in Port Huron, Michigan. It was my first time visiting the area and it was really lovely - even though they had a record breaking heat wave!
All my shoes are handmade, from illistration and pattern to clicking and stiching to lasting and making . I love all the stages of making a shoe, from flat leather to a form of sculpture
I've been experimenting with the color accent feature on my camera and I think this one turned out pretty well...
this was once a pink me-sized longsleeved cardigan with little press-stud buttons. I shrank it in the wash, cut off the arms, dyed it green and put some big old buttons on. Now it's Dali's Dandy Vest!
And that box underneath is a chicken hutch (i think). Dali's using it to breed bonsai farm animals.

Macro Monday Theme: Childhood Memories
I remember as a child, one of my favorite things to do was to find one of these and commence to setting them all free. I'm certain that my friends parents were not as excited about my mission as I was! :)
Story of a brand name change:
1. Dandy Cigarettes
2. Dalli formerly known as Dandy
(‘Dalli’ is not German for ‘Dandy’. It means ‘hurry up’.)
This hilly field near to Much Hadham was covered with these dandy lions but they only lasted a few days as the stormy winds blew in with the rain and knocked them all out. Anyway, a nice history photo for this year!
