CDV by Frederick's, New York, with the penciled name "Doesticks" on the back. Q. K. Philander Doesticks was the pen name of the humorist Mortimer Neal Thomson.

I met Dandy Lion at the Mardi Gras parade in Manitou Springs. I haven't had the opportunity to take a stranger shot in months, so I took my camera hoping to meet some interesting people. Dandy Lion and I were working our way through the crowd when we ran into each other and I asked him if I could take his picture. He said sure, and we moved to get out of everyone's way. Normally I wouldn't want that massive amount of light in someone's face, but I think it worked well with Dandy's costume. The area was very busy but there was no way I could pass up trying to get Dandy's picture and talk to him a bit. He definitely wanted to make sure I had his name right - and for me to know he was the Clown of Manitou. We talked a little about his costume and to prove he was a clown in the official sense, he showed me this ID. I took several pictures of Dandy, and with each one he gave me such a good expressions that it was hard to choose. Dandy Lion was familiar with flickr and said he'd be looking for his photo. Thank you Clown of Manitou for getting me one step closer to 100!
