Sacred Apache Crown Dancers - The Mountain Spirits ensure the well-being of the Apache people by protecting them from epidemic diseases and enemies. The Mountain Spirit Dancers or Crown Dancers "become" these sacred beings. The Western Apache call them the gaan while the Eastern Apache know them as gaa'he. - Embodying the Mountain Spirits, they dance, bringing the spiritual world into physical manifestation. Their heads crowned with wooden slat headdresses; there are four Mountain Spirit Dancers and a clown dancer (in the white mask).

Tanoura dance is a form of folkloric dance which is believed to be originated in Egypt. Tanoura means skirt in English and it is usually performed by Sufi men for the Sufi music, who spin continuously wearing long colorful skirts, where each color on the skirt represents one Sufi order.
The Tanoura beat is religious in nature and the performers aim is to reach spiritual inner purity and to enter a trance-like state during the performance, being at one with God. The long swirling colorful skirts that the performers wear make spectacular patterns as they twirl around in circles.

Dancing night spirits, that is one idea at least. I took this on about a 8 second time-lapse of holiday lights outside at night. Fun and lovely to see.

This was shot on seamless white in my backyard (my first time playing with seamless.) Light is an Einstein E640 at max power through a 60" softlighter, with a B800 through a softbox on the right, and some sunlight from above (although I was doing my best to drown it out with the Einstein. ;)
