This photo was taken when i was summer house with my family close to Egilstaðir in east Iceland. We went out side fore a little walk an I of course took my camera with me.

Eventually they got bored of all my "photography stops" and started a dance they do when they get bored of my "photography stops"

Tor Tor Dance is a dance rhythm with a musical accompaniment (Margondang) who played with musical instruments such as gondang traditional, flute, trumpet hobo, and others.

According to the history of dance tor-tor used in rituals associated with spirits, which spirits are summoned and "entered" into the stone statues (a symbol of the ancestors), then the statue is like a dance move but the movements stiff. Movements include leg movements (tiptoe, tiptoe) and hand movements. Types of dance tor-tor vary, there is the so-called tortor Pangurason (dance cleansing).

My daughter dances in this class as well as others. Her Regalia is hand made by friends she has met through either "Facebook, Pow Wows, Festivals and other means. Much of her Regalia were gifts from devoted friends or she traded for pieces of her own Native American Paintings etc. We have worked hard trying to be in contact with our Cherokee roots. It's been fun, entertaining and eye opening. We have both met wonderful people and shared heartwarming stories and I look forward to continuing to do so.
