As time passes by the stars continue thier dancing in the night sky.

One of my keepers from my Saturday shoot. My wife was out of town for the weekend so I spent the weekend out hiking and shooting. I went out to Wolf Creek Falls in the AM and then Jeremy and I went to Watson for an evening shoot. I have been wanting to get out and do some more night shots because I keep seeing Bob post those amazing night shots and it inspires me until I am out there not getting anything close to his shot. My hats off to you Bob!

To get this shot I tried several settings to see what worked. I wanted to get as many stars as possible so I kept my ISO high (too high has noise) and my aperture open (also too open DoF problems). I was worried that I wouldn’t get enough stars if I used too closed an aperture and too low of an ISO. I am sure there is a happy compromise so I will have to try this again.

Suggestions, Comments?

Dancing Ledge is a stone quarry located near Langton Matravers on the South West Coast Path in Dorset.

Purbeck stone was quarried here and transported by boats to various places around the country for building.

In the early 20th century a swimming pool was blasted in to the ledge for use by local prep schools. The rising tide fills the pool with water.

This shot was taken shortly after sunset, a 150 second exposure taking full advantage of the colourful clouds moving across the scene to create quite a dramatic effect.

I hope you like it.

Prague (Czech: Praha) is the capital and largest city in the Czech Republic, the 14th largest city in the European Union and the historical capital of Bohemia. Situated in the north-west of the country on the Vltava river, the city is home to about 1.3 million people, while its metropolitan area is estimated to have a population of 2.6 million. The city has a temperate climate, with warm summers and chilly winters.

Prague has been a political, cultural and economic centre of central Europe complete with a rich history. Founded during the Romanesque and flourishing by the Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque eras, Prague was the capital of the Kingdom of Bohemia and the main residence of several Holy Roman Emperors, most notably of Charles IV (r. 1346–1378). It was an important city to the Habsburg Monarchy and its Austro-Hungarian Empire. The city played major roles in the Bohemian and Protestant Reformation, the Thirty Years' War and in 20th-century history as the capital of Czechoslovakia, during both World Wars and the post-war Communist era.

Prague is home to a number of famous cultural attractions, many of which survived the violence and destruction of 20th-century Europe. Main attractions include Prague Castle, Charles Bridge, Old Town Square with the Prague astronomical clock, the Jewish Quarter, Petřín hill and Vyšehrad. Since 1992, the extensive historic centre of Prague has been included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites.

The city has more than ten major museums, along with numerous theatres, galleries, cinemas and other historical exhibits. An extensive modern public transportation system connects the city. Also, it is home to a wide range of public and private schools, including Charles University in Prague, the oldest university in Central Europe.

Prague is classified as an "Alpha −" global city according to GaWC studies and ranked sixth in the Tripadvisor world list of best destinations in 2016. Its rich history makes it a popular tourist destination and as of 2017, the city receives more than 8.5 million international visitors annually. Prague is the fourth most visited European city after London, Paris and Rome.

Source: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dancing_House

The Dancing House (Czech: Tančící dům), or Fred and Ginger, is the nickname given to the Nationale-Nederlanden building on the Rašínovo nábřeží (Rašín Embankment) in Prague, Czech Republic. It was designed by the Croatian-Czech architect Vlado Milunić in cooperation with Canadian-American architect Frank Gehry on a vacant riverfront plot. The building was designed in 1992 and completed in 1996.

The very non-traditional design was controversial at the time because the house stands out among the Baroque, Gothic and Art Nouveau buildings for which Prague is famous, and in the opinion of some it does not accord well with these architectural styles. The then Czech president, Václav Havel, who lived for decades next to the site, had avidly supported this project, hoping that the building would become a center of cultural activity.

Gehry originally named the house Fred and Ginger (after the famous dancers Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers – the house resembles a pair of dancers) but this nickname is now rarely used; moreover, Gehry himself was later "afraid to import American Hollywood kitsch to Prague", and thus discarded his own idea.

These young dancers were all smiles and couldn't be much cuter!

I had to stich together two shots for this image. The last girl on the left I had to get in a second shot. Probably why she doesn't have her arm out.

My apologies to any young ladies I cut off. It was a long line!

Organised by the Singapore Chinese Dance Theatre performed at the Esplanade Outdoor Theatre, Marina Bay.

The dance troop, Bandaloop, perforned a 'vertical dance' on the face of one of the walls of the Westin Harborview Hotel in Portland, Maine with two short performances at mid-day. Lots of harsh light.

A pioneer in vertical dance performance, BANDALOOP seamlessly weaves dynamic physicality, intricate choreography and the art of climbing to turn the dance floor on its side. Founded by choreographer and artistic director Amelia Rudolph, BANDALOOP’s indoor/outdoor work has been presented in theaters and museums, on skyscrapers, bridges, billboards and historical sites, in atriums and convention halls, in nature on cliffs, and on screen. BANDALOOP honors nature, community and the human spirit by bringing dance to new audiences, activating public and natural spaces, and re-imagining what dance can be.

These girls had a little bad luck, they have to do their performance on muddy ground! Anyways they´re lucky as they decided to dress tights and don´t have to do it with bare feet...
