We visited Dancing Ledge late morning in quite bright sunshine. It was also quite breezy, so the conditions for photography were not ideal. A number of images were spoiled by spray on the filter, vibration of the tripod or glare/ flare from the sun. This picture is cropped from a larger image that I took with the Big Stopper. The milkiness and light glinting off the rocks was quite attractive. The location itself is a good opportunity to capture wave crashing over a rock ledge but next time I will go for a dawn shoot

On the evening dog walk I came across this myriad of little dancers. I have no idea what sort of fly they were as the the action was frenetically fast and erratic.
I was really pleased with the rather eccentric results. I see from the exif that the camera chose 1/15 sec , so each little line shows how far each insect moved in that split second. Fascinating!

I took this at the dress rehearsal at the Theatre Royal in Glasgow, on Monday.
Shooting dance is thrilling, challenging and frustrating in almost equal measures. Particularly when there are lots of dancers on stage...it's a constant challenge trying to identify how to compose the shot. Lots of stray body parts in frame, generally don't make for a great shot.
Shooting dance is chaos...but, order can emerge. :-)

Liz Peck in rehearsal for a recent production from Threads dance company.
I have been so busy the last month with end of term marking that I haven't really had any time to shoot or edit new material.
I was lucky enough to be asked to photograph a rehearsal of the Threads dance company last week. I also shot the dress rehearsal at RichMix on Friday but have yet to go through the images. More of these to come over the next couple of weeks.
If you get a chance go along to one of the performances. The production was fantastic and well worth going if you have any interest in contemporary dance.
