This is how I got her, Feb 2006....
Brought via eBay from a Police auction, it had been seized by the Police, however it came with both MOT AND tax, so I can only assume the previous owner either didnt have insurance or had parked illegally (possibly on a lamp post) & couldnt afford the fine.
All the auctions start at the same amount of money to recover the costs for the DVLA/Police. They only put the vehicle up for auction once, if nobody bids, the car is then crushed, which is the unfortunate destiny of most of the cars there (many of which are still perfectly good cars).
I couldn't let that happen to this one!
I was the only person who bid on her so she wouldn't still be around if I hadn't have seen her.
The damage was superficial, luckily it hadn't gone deep enough to hit the rad pack and had just lightly clipped the seam of the the hinge panel which was literally pulled straight by hand!

TGX 704M - former DMS 704. I have seen histories for this bus that say it became a driver's rest room with S&M. If it was, it was not until after an active service life.
This series of seven photos taken at Springfield Cafe suffered colour damage to the negatives during processing. I have tried them as black and white but it does not seem to help at all, becoming very polarised. They are included for historical interest rather than photgraphic merit.
The motorised truck from the year 1898 is the world's oldest goods vehicle still in existence. Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft had built the world's first truck as early as 1896 and sold it to England. Among the first buyers in Germany were breweries which used the trucks for beer deliveries.

A roaring roadster from the 1960s, this car was originally known as the Daimler Dart, but the name was quickly dropped following legal action by Chrysler for reusing the name from one of their own cars.

The 1910 38hp Daimler produced at Coventry.
The Daimler Motor Co was founded by Gottleib Daimler about 1886 in Cannstatt in Germany.
Richard Simms, a young British engineer was much impressed with Daimler engine and acquired the Daimler patents to British empire in 1890. Harry Lawson bought these from Simms in 1896 and he formed The Daimler Motor Syndicate, and so two Daimler motor companies were formed, in Germany and England, each being totally independent of each other. The English company built the first Daimler in Coventry in 1897. The company built Daimlers at Coventry until about the 1970s, and today just exists in name badge form.

Developed fromDaimler-Benz DB 601
The Daimler-Benz DB 605 is a German aircraft engine, built during World War II. Developed from the DB 601, the DB 605 was used from 1942 to 1945 in the Messerschmitt Bf 109 fighter, and the Bf 110 and Me 210C heavy fighters. The DB 610, a coupled "power system" powerplant comprising a pair of side-by-side configured examples of the DB 605, geared together in the front to turn a single output shaft, was used in Germany's only operational heavy bomber, the Heinkel He 177.
License-built versions of the DB 605 were used in the Macchi C.205, Fiat G.55, Reggiane 2005 and some other Italian aircraft. It was also initially used in the pusher-design Swedish Saab J21. Approximately 42,400 DB 605s of all kinds were built.
