I have cucumbers in abundance right now. Also, mint. So I read a thousand recipes and here's what I did:
8 cucumbers, peeled and seeded
1/3 cup cream cheese
1/3 cup Greek yogurt
1/3 cup sour cream
1/2 cup spearmint
1 teaspoon salt
chives to garnish
Whir in blender. Chill. Yum.
I made enough to send with him to Cambridge, but I'm not sure it will last that long.
These are commonly called Lebanese Cucumbers. They are more flavorful than the big ones at the supermarket
These butternut squash and cucumbers are planted along the house atop the tulip bed. I started the vegetables from seed, and held off putting them in the ground until the leaves from the tulips finally died off. The goal is to try to get the plants to climb the netting, using the vertical space and hopefully keeping the cucumbers and squash off the ground. You can also see the left side of the sweet pea "patch". Photo taken in the harsh morning shadows before heading to work.

We've been getting some sizable (and very tasty) cucumbers from the garden patch in our front yard. When we moved in, the previous owners had dozens of ornamental flowers and bushes... but we're more of the mind that if plants need tending, we should get something for our effort. Thus, a garden was born.
Size approx 40cm.
