Art CUBE is a project that takes the common notion of the frame, a solid border that usually surrounds a picture or painting, and transforms this boundary into a temporary outdoor gallery space for Art Alliance Austin. This simple transformation is accomplished by extruding the frame and separating it into two halves. Next, one of the halves is rotated 90 degrees and then interlocked with the other half of the frame. The resulting gaps and spaces between the two pieces form the gallery enclosure and allow light and people to filter through the space. The result is a compact, yet sophisticated space that is secure and enhances the installation of work by selected artists.

Core Theatre, Corby Cube, seen here nearing completion. The orchestra pit is on a lift and can be raised to provide a flat floor from the rear of the stage to the rear of the stalls (once the raked bleacher seating has been retracted). The balconies and the 'cornice' are padded crimson brocade, which with the wooden panelling, should give the auditorium an excellent acoustic. It was beset with problems which took a decade to resolve.

Inspired by builds I'd seen online, I decided to invest in a couple of Bluetooth Upgrade kits from Circuit Cubes. These seemed to offer a lot of potential for motorising and controlling small models and machines.
Circuit cubes are a Lego-compatible electric system designed for educational purposes. More information can be seen on the website here:

This cube reminds me of a restaurant we used to have here on Beaverton-Hillsdale Hi-Way called Mr. Steak. It had big high backed booths oozing with 70's disco music and guys with mustaches!!!
Ice Cube is coming to town. I'm kind of tempted to go and spend the entire gig shouting out "SVU! SVU!", but I'd undoubtedly be beaten to a pulp :D

I got this at a flea market. It has a slide lid but no pull-up lever. It's very tall - Hard to tell in the pics... the ice cubes are more like long rectangles than cubes... The ice cubes last forever in your glass... It's a bit touchy getting the cubes out and works much better if you remove them when 'just' set to store in something else...
This is what happens when the radio dies in my work truck... I have a lot of quiet time to watch cars on the highway. I have no idea why my brain comes up with this stuff... I just have to draw it out so I can stop obsessing about it in my mind.

Mader Stublić Wiermann. Electronic images of black and white alternating structures and contrasts are projected on a cuboid object in the space. Passing through different metamorphosis, the abstract image themes gather momentum in the three-dimensional. Structural unities of image, sound and movement deconstruct the shape of the cube -- images and sounds are mutually dependent and explore relations between form and meaning beyond medial image fronts.

Nissan Cube, On display at Birmingham's Bullring.
The updated Nissan Cube features more rounded and curved styling cues than its predecessors.
This evolution is most striking in the rear bumper area, in the asymmetrical rear window, which wraps around to the passenger side, and in the oval-shaped driver and front passenger windows.
The rear hatch is hinged to open along its vertical axis, towards the curb. This helps loading and unloading when street parking in a crowded urban environment.
