Sol Samba, Oxford-based community band and dancers, celebrates 15 years of providing culture and entertainment, not only in Oxfordshire, but throughout the South. Held at Oxford's Old Fire Station, this anniversary event combined performances by Sol Samba and The Illustrious Sambistas with a large screen viewing of the World Cup match, Netherlands vs. Costa Rica.

A screen shot of Adobe's new Photoshop CS6 beta. Just downloaded it, installed it, and I'm already goofing around. Pretty much works like CS5, but has a whole new look that reminds me of Lightroom.
Also has a video timeline? Can you now edit/create videos with Photoshop? That would be interesting...

This last Sunday the weather forecast justified a car trip back to the Dania's fishing pier before sunrise. I'm glad I did manage to get up - so early! I ended up my early morning shoot with a nice set of images.
This one in particular was interesting because the lights from the restaurant/bar and office were still on at dawn. I think the colors makes an interesting point-of-view on the dark side of the composition.
I combined a few long-exposures images exposed individually for a HDR process in addition to some blending and masking work in CS6.

First trial of the new Photoshop CS6: still getting used to the new software (better know more keyboard shortcuts). The camera raw 7 is so much better, very similar processing flow to the lightroom 4; the content aware fill is amazing. The upload of flickr is also new, thus the title of this photo is 3-fold pun: first light at the badwater, first trial of the CS6 and new flickr upload

The Pinwheel Galaxy (M101). This is probably the hardest thing I've images so far. Whilst it's quite large, it's prety faint too. A high mist added to the light pollution as well affecting the contrast. Taken with a Skywatcher 200PDS and a Nikon D7000.

I tried to eat something healthy at lunch today by going to Midtown Deli and getting a turkey wrap, with Swiss cheese, American cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, olives, regular mustard, and extra pickles. I don't normally eat cupcakes and pastries, but I was in the rare mood to try out one of the cupcakes that was in the lunchroom with the strawberries. Lunch was good, and the cupcake was okay.
