This is another self portrait, but as a concept piece to communicate an idea. The common thought is that the problem with the Christian church of today is that we need to be more loving, and there are times this is true. I recently presented to my congregation that there is another problem - we need to be more angry! Sin makes God angry...and yet we often pride ourselves on our tolerance of sin. We are not angry enough! Psalms 7:11 GW God is a fair judge, a God who is angered by injustice every day.

I liked this picture, which was +1 exposure, so had a little fun tinkering with it.

My kids used to climb up it back in the day.

Arriving in Salamanca, a university city 200 km west of Madrid, on day 14 of our 2-week tour. The façade of this 16th century monastery is composed of the front of the church and the convent gate access at right angles to it. In front of the monastery is a statue of Francis of Vitoria, a Spanish Renaissance Roman Catholic philosopher and founder of the tradition in philosophy known as the School of Salamanca.

Explanation: NGC 4631 is a big beautiful spiral galaxy seen edge-on (top right) only 25 million light-years away towards the small northern constellation Canes Venatici. This galaxy's slightly distorted wedge shape suggests to some a cosmic herring and to others the popular moniker of The Whale Galaxy. Either way, it is similar in size to our own Milky Way. In this gorgeous color image, the Whale's dark interstellar dust clouds, yellowish core, and young blue star clusters are easy to spot. A companion galaxy, the small elliptical NGC 4627, appears above the Whale Galaxy. At the lower left is another distorted galaxy, the hockey stick-shaped NGC 4656. The distortions and mingling trails of gas detected at other wavelengths suggest that all three galaxies have had close encounters with each other in their past. The Whale Galaxy is also known to have spouted a halo of hot gas glowing in x-rays. (Text from apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap071012.html)

St Fagans National Museum of History, commonly referred to as St Fagans after the village where it is located, is an open-air museum in St Fagans, Cardiff, Wales chronicling the historical lifestyle, culture, and architecture of the Welsh people. It consists of more than forty re-erected buildings from various locations in Wales, and is set in the grounds of St Fagans Castle, a Grade I listed Elizabethan manor house. In 2011 Which? magazine named the museum the United Kingdom's favourite visitor attraction.

A six-year, £30-million revamp was completed in 2018 and the museum was named the Art Fund Museum of the Year in 2019.

Image edited in Topaz Adjust 5 from Lightroom 4, I think the Dramatic Preset used, slight saturation adjustment and back to LR4, spot removal for sensor dust, and noise reduction and crop. Then finished in CS5, High Pass Filter to Sharpen (Some just sharpen in LR4) then border applied..About 5 mins or less on each image except for the Sundial image where a few people needed to be removed using the Healing Brush and Close Stamp in CS5...

And yes It looks like I missed some dust spots...oops...

I used the skin of giraffe and placed it over a rhino. And guess what, I used Photoshop to do this all.

Something they didn't expect when they planned that great moment in their lives ...

I was walking my dog when I saw this scene. I had to decide quickly, because there was some distance between me and the group. I had my bridge camera with me and a 10x zoom, but there was no quality light, because of the snow & my camera had iso 64 setting(s) and it was to cold to adjust that quickly enough because I was wearing gloves... I took a lot of pictures today, some good some less good ... the couple had royal settings : Queen Elisabeth road, King Albert way, King Albert Park .... and snow, and ice and cold a lot of that !

Herbig–Haro objects (HH) are small patches of nebulosity associated with newly born stars, and are formed when narrow jets of gas ejected by young stars collide with clouds of gas and dust nearby at speeds of several hundred kilometres per second.

The Pelican Nebula, IC 5070, has perhaps the most famous of these, HH 555, but the image in fact contains several more.

In the last 15 years, I’ve been visiting Madrid and surroundings very often, mostly in business trips that allowed me to take a shot or two during my spare time. For some reason, there isn’t a single image of these trips in my photostream, but that’s going to change… This is usually my first image when I get to Madrid by plane. In the '90, the airport of Madrid-Barajas was so saturated, that a so-called Plan Barajas was designed to avoid the collapse. The final step of the expansion was Terminal 4 (T4), designed by Antonio Lamela and Richard Rogers and built by Ferrovial, one of the world's largest airport terminals (470,000 sqm.), enough to handle over 35 milion passengers/year. It includes authomatic luggage managenement and an underground railway. It was inaugurated in February 2006.

340/365 - Oh Yeah!! Straight out of the box and here we go...... Plenty of new sliders to slide. Lots of fun to be had I can see!!

Grey's Monument, Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear, England, UK

Grainger Street was laid out during the redesign of the city centre by the architect John Dobson, Town Clerk John Clayton, and landowner and entrepreneur Richard Grainger in the mid 19th century.

Grand, wide thoroughfares, bounded by splendid buildings in the neoclassical style, converge at Grey's Monument. Originally to have been Seven Dials, a business and market centre, the plans were simplified before building was completed. The monument was the result of an architectural competition.

• Here, I break the golden rule of photography - always have your back to the light. Shooting into the light gives distance haze, silhouettes, and high contrast.

Break in the rain and in revision over the weekend so thought I'd look for something different to upload. Did quite a lot of work on the shot, trying to single out the one daisy in the center and try and minimize the distraction of the surroundings. Have been playing around with camera raw in CS5.5 to find out what is possible and was amazed how far I could manipulate the photo before even getting into photoshop! (All of the post-processing was done in camera raw) Let me know what you think...
