The world is black, the world is white
It turns by day, and then by night
A child is black, a child is white
Together they grow to see the light
To see the light
" a Photo not a Painting using CS5 Brushes and a Canvas Texture"
An early morning start at 5am and a short walk from our camp into the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. Not a spectacular sunrise but the following hour or so was magical as the shadows and colours developed and changed.

It has always been difficult to go back to where I was when I hiberate for a long time.
So bear with my recovery.
I will only feel confident if I could start annoying people who hate HDRs. If that starts again, that means I'm back.
I think this is where I feel the independence if I am aggressive with my HDRs. And if I fall back to my mentality that whether you like it or not, I'll just publish and show it to the world, I know I'm in the groove.
I'm on my way to get back my KK Touch and thus, I can finally finish my HDR book. I want to publish it in a month. Help me by supporting me.
BTW, look, no people. But there were people in the original shot. Okay. It is not magic. It is simply Photoshop CS5 new content aware thing. It's included in the HDR book. Very simple to remove the people and any unwanted objects like signs and wires with the new Photoshop CS5.
And also, if you look closely at this HDR, focus on the picture, can't you see that it is in 3D? Let me know if you managed to view this in 3D.

STEAM - Museum of the Great Western Railway is housed in a beautifully restored Grade II railway building in the heart of the former Swindon railway works. The Museum tells the story of the men and women who built, operated and travelled on the Great Western Railway - a railway network that, through the pioneering vision and genius of Isambard Kingdom Brunel, was regarded as the most advanced in the world.

Well I finally got a Lenticular Cloud near Mt Rainier! Actually, this cloud was forming to the east of the mountain, but since I am on the west side shooting east, the cloud looks to be forming right above the mountain! I saw this driving from my house in Issaquah. I left around 4:00pm to get to the mountain. "Plenty of Time, " I thought. Heck no, traffic was a nightmare! It normally takes me about two hours to get to Mt Rainier from where I live, and where I had to stop, I was still an hour away!
Oh well, I needed to make the best of the spot I found. The location is actually "Dogwood Park," just north of the town of Eatonville. The park is located just off the side of the road next to this fantastic pasture and this spot totally worked for me! I wish I could have arrived about ten minutes sooner, as the mountain was really lighting up!
I returned to this location around midnight, as I had proceeded to Mt Rainier only to be turned around by a Park Ranger. They do not allow people inside the park due to potential avalanche danger. Well then, change of plans. I decided to set up shop above a little creek outside of the Longmire Lodge and shoot a time lapse video of the moon rise!
So After a while, I then returned to "Dogwood Park" and this great vantage point! I shot a cool time lapse of the swirling clouds and rotating stars by moonlight! I also captured the feeding habits of the horses in the pasture! I will post those later. I want you to be able to enjoy this!
This is a combination of three exposures (-2,0,+2) merged and tonemapped in Photomatix. I tightened the crop in Photoshop as well as ran through Topaz Adjust to bring back some detail. Highlight adjustments, noise reduction and slight added vignette added in Lightroom.
Thank you for your views, comments, and faves. I really appreciate them. I am starting to slow down a bit so that I can spend a little more time immersed inside your photostreams!

M81 is a large and brilliant spiral galaxy in Ursa Major constellation, with an estimated distance from the Milky Way of 12 million light years.
It has apparent dimension of 26.9’x14.1’ corresponding to a real diameter of 92000 light years, so it is a bit smaller than Milky Way.
M81 is the largest galaxy of a group containing 34 members, among which there is also the Cygar Galaxy M82.
On the bottom of the image it is visible also the faint dwarf galaxy Holmberg X, which is probably located behind M81 and was formed via the condensation of a tidal tail; its blue color is due to young massive stars formed only about 100 million years ago.

I cheated again. The shot needed something living so I added the dog in Photoshop. This poor dog appears to have had a rough life, and I thought, fit with the scene.

The Last Light at Portpatrick. As the tide started to head out i was able to get down amongst the rocks for this shot using the last of the light. The main rock i really liked, but also the light from the hut reflecting on the rocks plays a big part in the composition.

I haven't posted anything in a while so I felt like just throwing something up here. This is a shot from my first day w/ my new camera. I hadn't shot HDR in quite a while & I figured I'd try it out again now that I had all these new megapixels to work with. I didn't really like this shot much, but I feel like it's notable for two reasons:
1) I made this in about 3 minutes with the HDR Pro tool in CS5. I guess I assumed that tool sucked, but I decided to give it a shot, basically out of boredom. I'm glad I did. PS did a good job with this one.
2) For some reason, I woke up at 5:30AM & couldn't fall back asleep. The result was this. A shot of the sun rising over Hermosa Beach. If you look really closely, you can see the city of Los Angeles way back on the horizon. (Okay...no you can't. did you look?)

The Magic Kingdom monsoon earlier in the evening provided some really good photo ops that night. This is the full fisheye version of a shot that I posted a few months ago. 6 exposure HDR processed with Photomatix Exposure Fusion and finished in CS5.
A visit to Bradford-on-Avon with a Sony A6000 converted for infra red with a 720nm filter.
With the River Avon at its heart, the Roman town of Bradford on Avon sits on the southern edge of the Cotswolds, surrounded by glorious scenic countryside. It is no wonder the town has drawn people to the area since the Iron Age.
The Saxons drove their carts across the ‘broad ford’ that gave the town its name – a path you can still follow today – on your way to the impressive Tithe Barn. The Tithe Barn is described by English Heritage as "one of the largest medieval barns in England, and architecturally one of the finest”. Wander back into town along the canal or riverside, and you can’t miss the superb town bridge – parts of which date back to the 13th century – that replaced the ford. Its nine arches span the Avon, and at its centre is a medieval pilgrim chapel, later converted into a lock up for undesirables.

Which is better? Photoshop CS5 has a new integrated HRD option. I used the same 5 frames in Photomatix to create the other version.
