From a September Seahawks game. I accidentally captured a cross-fade between the Seagals and a play on the big screen at the end of the field.
If this doesn't capture the classic American male fantasy (doing battle while hotties look on), I don't know what does.
This screenshot shows my Ableton Live set up at the end of a recent Improvizone gig. If it were the start of the gig, there would be no clips in the session view at all (well, just one - the click track on track 12).
Tracks 1-4 are my workspace, for playing back loops I've captured from track 5 - the guitar input. Tracks 1-4 are well loaded up with effects that I can punch in and out.
Tracks 6-11 are purely for recording - a multitrack recording of the whole gig, including a 'resample' recording of what's being produced on the laptop.
Track 12 is a click which is routed to the drummer's headphones.
The return channels contain various loopers (Augustus Loop x 2, Crossfade Loop Synth Effect) which tracks 1-5 get sent off to most of the time.

average of diff and average views of satellite photos of the Earth
This is one of thousands of images like it (each unique though) I've recently generated with an experimental process. The experiment is a success if I may say so.
This is the process to (potentially) get some way cool procedural images from satellite (or any!) images, accomplished with a new script at github.com/…/ma…/recipes/diff_avg_supercompos... :
Phase I.
– collect several cool satellite images of civilization and/or wilderness, e.g. from this site: earthview.withgoogle.com/
– for every image pair in the collection, make a "diff" image (subtract the RGB values of every pixel in one image from every pixel in the other image), and save the result
– for every image pair in the collection, make an averaged image (average the RGB values of every pixel in one image with another), and save the result
Phase II.
– liberally delete less impressive results
Phase III.
– for every diffed result, average it with an averaged result and save that.
– for every averaged result, subtract (diff) a diffed result.
– liberally delete less impressive results. Good luck–with 17 source images and heavy pruning in Phase II, this will give me 17k+ results, so far all of them compellingly cool.
(Phase IV: sort all results by approx. nearest most similar and string them together in a movie of crossfades to see works between the works.)
(Phase V: accidentally produce glitch art because your computer ran out of hard drive space and memory doing all this, but the processing script keeps calling the utilities that do this, and the utilities break. I'll post some glitch results later).
(Phase VI: realize you have a storage and bandwidth problem for your new many gigabytes of images.)
I hope this post syndicated from my art blog ok. This is the first post attempting to do so via NEXTSCRIPTS AutoPoster, an amazing WordPress plugin.

Google Street View is a technology featured in Google Maps and Google Earth that provides panoramic views from positions along many streets in the world. It was launched on May 25, 2007, in several cities in the United States, and has since expanded to include cities and rural areas worldwide.
On each of these vehicles there are nine directional cameras for 360° views at a height of about 2.5 metres, GPS units for positioning and three laser range scanners from SICK AG for the measuring of up to 50 meters 180° in the front of the vehicle (the scanners fitted to his car appear not to be SICK scanners). These are used for recording a rough 3D model of the surroundings, enabling faux-3D transitions between distinct panoramas where the environment images are momentarily mapped onto this 3D model while being crossfaded to create an animated perspective change as the user travels from one panorama to another.
Privacy advocates have objected to this Google feature, pointing to views found to show men leaving strip clubs, protesters at an abortion clinic, sunbathers in bikinis, and people engaging in activities visible from public property in which they do not wish to be seen publicly. The concerns have led to several temporary bans of Street View in countries around the world. Google maintains that the photos were taken from public property; however, an individual taking pictures of private property using a ladder to gain a view not normally available to a pedestrian would be prosecuted for invasion of privacy or harassment in many jurisdictions worldwide. Google has yet to address this concern. The service also allows users themselves to flag inappropriate or sensitive imagery for Google to review and remove.

of course fine for video as well but i haven't found a command line program that can do crossfades. but you could do the snippets in ffmpeg without too much trouble i believe. someday i will implement that.

The PSR-EW400 is Yamaha’s flagship portable keyboard with 76 touch response keys and 48-note polyphony.
It creates 758 high quality voices featuring the new Live! Grand Piano Voice that makes piano performances sound inspired and expressive. It also features 8 Sweet! voices (Tenor & Soprano Sax, Trumpet, Trombone, 3 Flutes) and 3 Cool! voices (Piano & 2 Organs) which use Yamaha's advanced sampling technologies to capture the realism and specific characteristics of each sound.
Two assignable, real-time control knobs filter and adjust sound like an analog synthesizer. 10 DSP effects (Reverb, Harmony, Chorus, etc.) can be assigned and controlled by the knobs for dynamic and expressive live performance. The Pitch Bend wheel adjusts the pitch of the sound bringing voices like the Guitar, Sax and Trumpet to life.
The Pattern function puts a wealth of powerful loops and beats, like Crossfade and Retrigger, to create dynamically varied music on the fly like a DJ.
150 Arpeggio patterns adjust and morph around the notes and chords played allowing for almost limitless creativity.
A rich set of ethnic sounds and scale tunings allow you to enjoy many styles of music around the world, including Latin, Indian, Arabic, African, Chinese, and more.
