Furnace, water heater, water softener. The crawlspace is even sealed, and a new dehumidifier is on the way. (Water=condensation from AC)

Looking underneath the addition at the back of our house. We imagine it must get pretty cold in that room in the winter.

The boys explore the crawlspace under the old hospital.

The concrete foundation and crawlspace is getting done on the new addition to 31st Street, 2021 vintage ...

This is what I've been doing this week! A sink fitting let go during the night, flooded for 4 hours or so, and filled half the house plus the crawlspace. Counters (with sink), hardwood floor, baseboards, drywall...all ripped out. Industrial fans and dehumidifiers have been running all week trying to dry it all out. It's been an adventure!

I'm sorry that I'm way behind on your Flickr photos. I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying late fall. Cheerio!

Was invited to shoot this very cool birthday surprise! Was a lot of fun, even crawling around in the dusty old crawlspace

The chimney was still leaking after installation, the homeowner had this repaired immediately.

Hollywood, CA. Heather posed up one Friday evening for a shoot.

Elizabeth had a bike she'd sometimes ride, but she had to dig it out from the crawlspace under her building first. Now in America she has a pink bike of her own! And she doesn't even need to dig it out from a crawlspace to be able to ride.

Shear panels were required on both sides of crawlspace opening. There really isn't anything new being built above this

It's gross under the house. Needs a good dusting. Because of the depression in this location, can sit without puncturing head with nails from upper boards.

why did the pilot lite have to go out?

On June 12, 2013, Veterans Green Jobs and GRID Alternatives Colorado, alongside Wells Fargo volunteer teams, provided a series of home improvement upgrades for a Denver couple. Henry (Ray) and Roslyn Navarro received weatherization improvements – including an energy efficient furnace, a water heater, insulation in the attic and crawlspace, CFL lightbulbs throughout the house, carbon monoxide/smoke detectors, and window sealing; solar panels; and exterior painting, landscaping and tree planting. The measures will boost the health, safety, energy efficiency and aesthetics of the 1952 home – as well as reduce the Navarros’ utility bills.

I have to put on my special (dirty) raspberry pants every day to crawl in between the blueberry bushes and the raspberries. They're all tangled up there. Next year, we're going to be more ruthless in our pruning. The whole time I'm crawling around on the wet moss, I'm thinking about snakes.

Hmmm, see anything worth keeping? It is about 36 inches high, and webs everywhere.

Runaway slaves were hidden in the crawlspace and under the mattresses.

Standing in basement looking north through crawlspace. Beam above is the one below the staircase and the beam in background is the one that is extending from garage into crawlspace. That beam is providing support where old house will meet new house addition

On April 6th, 2014, Rebuilding Together NYC partnered with Friends of Rockaway and volunteers from Citi to repair a Sandy-damaged home in Gerritsen Beach, Brooklyn. Volunteers tackled the difficult task of cleaning out a crawlspace and laying down a vapor barrier, helping provide a low-income homeowner with a clean, safe, and dry home from the ground up!

An old glass tube I found in the crawlspace of my home. Never saw this brand before ( not lately anyway) and being it looks like it dates back to the 60`s I shot it for the sake of nostalgia.

On the very bottom of the label it reads "stays actively antiseptic in use up to four months"

Maybe it held some kind of cream or mouthwash?

Here's a picture of the installed, fully covered sump pump. Isn't it so much nicer than those nasty open sump pits that you usually see? Did you know that many sump systems don't have adequate discharge systems, so the water gets pumped out of the basement, only to soak back into the fill soil and form a water removal cycle that can mean really high utility bills. Our discharge lines are always put a proper distance from the foundation wall.

Another fun filled writing day. Horror movie outline almost complete, I think.

This is how the crawlspace looked when we first arrived. They had covered the floor with old canvas painter's cloths. The whole area smelled mildewy and it was dark and nasty. There were tons of crickets and the space was wasted--who would want to store anything down there in that crawlspace?

This is another beam added into garage. 6x6 post set into new concrete footing and versalam beam runs through side wall into crawlspace. This beam is supporting the north side of the staircase above

The wind blows through this empty pipe and makes the little fish swim, as seen previously; the space is just a hidey-hole.

This Black Racer was hiding in leaf litter in a crawlspace vent in my front yard. It kept sticking its head up, but every time I came close with camera it disappeared. I finally caught it, and it struck me once, drawing two tiny pinpricks of blood. When that did not scare me off, it began vibrating its tail against the leaves, even as I held it in my left hand. After I released it, the snake took off as racers are wont to do!

Interesting electrical work here. I need to figure out what the deal is with all the extra lines in the thermostat control.

I also would like to thank whoever left the old flue pipes sitting around.
