Boy 1 forgot what part of the crawlspace was load bearing. The most important thing is he wasn't hurt. The second most important thing is this happened in the garage and not our bedroom.
This crawl space used to have a chimney running through it. We solved that, did the flooring and drywall, a little bit of woodwork and some paint. The closet system is called Broder, and was purchased at ikea. I did a bit of custom work on it. The Hemnes dresser is also from ikea.

This pier did not line up with the girder, & this was not the proper way to correct it.
I stuck my head in there for you dorks but I didn't see anything but dirt.

Found the access point to the crawlspace. Glad that there's no evidence of mould or leaks, and that there is insulation! I'm calling it a crawlspace but I suspect that it would take a very small person to manage getting beyond the entryway.

This basement (more a crawlspace) had a bulkhead entrance, so I wonder if it was deeper at one point. The small windows are obscured by the rear addition.

On June 12, 2013, Veterans Green Jobs and GRID Alternatives Colorado, alongside Wells Fargo volunteer teams, provided a series of home improvement upgrades for a Denver couple. Henry (Ray) and Roslyn Navarro received weatherization improvements – including an energy efficient furnace, a water heater, insulation in the attic and crawlspace, CFL lightbulbs throughout the house, carbon monoxide/smoke detectors, and window sealing; solar panels; and exterior painting, landscaping and tree planting. The measures will boost the health, safety, energy efficiency and aesthetics of the 1952 home – as well as reduce the Navarros’ utility bills.

So, i am working away, minding my own business, and look over to my left and this is what i see... Have to say... startled the HELL out of me. When down in a crawlspace you expect to see spiders and maybe a slug or two, things like that. You dont expect to see teeth that big sticking out of an access door 4 feet from you.... Apparently this possum decided that my crawlspace was a good spot to die.

We had invisible fencing installed in our crawlspace to keep Brady out of the kitchen and off the sofa. Works great for the most part.
