Garrapata, Big Sur, California
A view south from Soberanes Point of the rocky Big Sur coast during a misty evening. The primary rock here is granodiorite, a form of granite formed by intruding magma that has since cooled.
This is a combo photo of a himmingbird I shot a day or so ago and the moon last night. I don't know what inspired me to combine them since himmingbirds don't fly at night.
Another from yesterday morning...this taken at sunrise near Ripponden. There's actually two sheep grazing on the bottom right hand corner..can hardly them see for the fog!

The hot days continue. Today, I post a photo of cool-looking hydrangeas from a while ago.

Temperature was 33 degree C before noon, so people tried cooling off in the falls near the Carbide Wilson Ruins in Gatineau Park, Quebec.
Only a couple weeks removed from snow, ice, and sub-zero temps, this male Northern Cardinal was enjoying a drink in 70 degree temps in my yard in NE Oklahoma.

limited issue PEPSI containers..........The can was one of four in a series known as Pepsi "Cool" cans...they were released in 1990 from Memorial Day thru Independence Day. Not sure on the dating of the bottle with the raised PEPSI lettering.

I'm melting.......a record-setting week ahead with triple digit temps and a predicted high point of 114 here in Spokane. Never seen anything like this severe weather in the Pacific Northwest. With little relief coming for next couple weeks, at least. Gonna be a loooong scorching summer.
I needed a crisp, cool memory to chill me down some. Was so refreshing looking up the Lake Louise outlet on this stormy, snowy day. Wish I could step back into it.
ps: I've got several projects ahead and will reluctantly not be on flickr as much for the next few months. I'll miss the beauty and all of you.
May your week be comfortable and wonderful!
You put your hands in the air
And you jump off the ground
And then you take that funky butt and you shake it all around
And lightly jog in place and then crank it up to a prance
This is the cool patrol dance…
This interesting photo was taken somewhere near Desert View Watchtower in Grand Canyon National Park. You can see the subtle detailed sun beam cast on the canyon. A great contrast of the orange warmth and purple coolness.
I spent three days in Arlington Texas during an ice storm... freezing rain... whatever. Special Thanks to Howard Johnson for letting me crash on the couch.
Another shot from our Skye trip last weekend, this time a panorama of the Cuillin Hills taken from the side of a very popular road on the island.
