The old PLC developed a fault, so power drive systems shipped me a new one in 24hours! I installed it with a mornings work and now things are working better than ever. The only problem is that the new PLC is too big for the case so I had to bolt it on the outside!

I bought the steam controller last week. So is it any good?
Yes.
It's the best controller I've ever handled. I am not a big fan of valve, I enjoy portal and half life 2, but only portal is something special. So the bias I had against the steam controller was negative. But I watched reviews to decide that yes, it looks awesome, so I bought one, thinking that if I didn't like it I could sell it on the swedish ebay.
The curve is the other direction than regular controllers, and that may seem like it would be weird, but it fills out your hand excellently. If you cup your hand, you'll feel that it goes like if you hold an elliptic ball. Most controllers don't emulate this natural grip, which the steam controller does. The touchpads can be used as both a mouse and a joystick, which makes them really nice and their sensitivity is just fine. The back paddles are quite resistant, but not too much so you don't push them by accident but they are easy enough to push. It has so many buttons, and that is excellent, and it's very easy to change the controller settings. Finally, the gyro is good for some games, can't say it's the best.
Now it's not perfect, there are a lot of negatives. The first thing you may notice is the glossy plastic. Glossy plastic has not, is not and will never be a good idea. Even though your palms and thumbs don't directly touch it while using as intended, it still attracts dust and you touch it sometimes. It's not goodlooking and it gets worse with time. The analogue stick and the buttons are quite far down, which makes it quite strenuous to use, even worse than using the analogue stick on the ps controllers. This is something that I usually fix by assigning the buttons to other buttons on the controller, since it has so many (Even the touchpads are buttons). The seam where the two halves are connected sticks out a bit, which cuts into your hand. THis is only noticable after long use, and barely then, but it's still not good. The "Haptic feedback" is a tactile and audative feedback which sounds like the audative feedback you get by having wireless devices close to sound devices, just quieter. Finally the size. It's really huge. This is both a pro and a con. The pro of it is that it fills out your hands a bit more, but the con is that it's fucking huge. here it is compared to the xbox 360 controller. It's also quite heavy.
All in all, it's a fantastic controller. Best I've ever handled. The gyro helps aim in fps, the touchpads make it more accurate to controll in most games. The only game it hasn't worked as it should in is LA noire thus far, and I have tried it in AoE2, Terraria, racing games, tropico 5, Payday 2, Papers please, MGRR and Dishonored. In LA noire the aiming was really sluggish.
I give this controller a solid 88/100.
Ruby red 360 controller, I've tried to take shots of this before but none have turned out this well. Small amount of PS (removing colour cast at the top and sorting out bg) and a few LR tweaks (blacks, saturation).
Feedback re: colours would db appreciated, my laptop screen isn't th best, is that red; too RED!?
Arduino based MIDI controller using VEX ultrasonic rangefinder for note input. Knobs control key & scale.
As it turns out, this rangefinder is not great for this application, the beam is too narrow and makes it difficult to keep hand in beam. Subsequently replaced with rangefinder w/70 degree sonar cone.
This controller was to be used with the Mac rather than the console itself, hence the Apple Desktop Bus connection.
Despite appearances, I am actually a lot more excited about the Irish rejection of the Treaty of Lisbon than I am Rails' ability to inspire lewd humor.
