Emn esta fotografía se puede ver la ciudad de El Alto (izquierda) y al frente se tiene el nevado mururata con una estela de nubes. Mientas que en el lugar empiezan a formarse las primeras gotas de un chubasco.

The new control room looking pristine. There is much more of it than this photo shows - the photographer must be standing near the supervisor's desk in the middle of the room.
When I arrived here in 1992, the Chief Engineer had his office, and various design staff had their open-plan desks, crowded here in the control room. The lovely parquet floor had been devastated by the stiletto heels of the Chief Engineer's secretary in the 1960's. The control room was crowded with desks, vast arrays of filing cabinets, the photocopier, printer and fax machine. Even in those days some of the desks had computers, so there were power and network cables pinned to the floor.
Controlled fires are set in Spring and Autumn to reduce the leaf litter and fire load in our forests. This helps to reduce fierce wildfires in summertime during the hot time of the year.

USS Becuna (SS-319)

Displacement: 1,800 tons surfaced, 2,400 tons submerged
Crew: 8 commissioned officers, 5 chief petty officers, 67 enlisted men
Top Speed after Guppy refit: 15 knots (17mph) submerged, 18 knots (21mph) surfaced
Launched in 1944, the Becuna (SS-319) completed five wartime patrols in the Pacific Ocean. Becuna is similar to many submarines built in Philadelphia for the U.S. Navy.
Becuna is a BALAO-class submarine built in New London, CT. During World War II, "Becky" prowled the Pacific Ocean for Japanese ships, and is credited with sinking 3.5 Japanese merchant ships. Converted in 1951 to a Guppy 1A type with sophisticated radar and torpedo equipment including nuclear warheads, she is the only Guppy 1-A submarine on display.
