Aside from the 6 gigantic cooling towers, these two relatively squat buildings are the only structures left standing at Thorpe Marsh Power Station. Unfortunately, access to the higher levels looked rather sketchy, so we were unable to gain a higher viewpoint of the surrounding area.
Fuji Velvia 100, cross processed in C41. The colour shift gives some interesting results. All the cross processed images in my photostream are unaltered, as they came out of the lab (unless they're monochrome!).

Control room at the UPM paper mill, Shotton, Deeside. The pulping process and feed to the two paper-making machines is managed from here. The output is also quality checked in real time. Everything at the click of a mouse.
An analogue fire control computer, this one in no.2 turret. The range, angle, ship and target speed and course, etc, can be set using the handles round the side, with the readouts on top giving the angle and elevation of the guns. There was presumably a main fire control computer in the superstructure (maybe the one on the bridge?) and this would be a backup in case communications were severed or the main computer was destroyed.
This is the control room for the railroad lift bridge over the Soo Locks. The bridge is still in use and it could use some paint.

Mini World Rotterdam is a huge working model of the city Rotterdam and areas of The Netherlands. There are lot of train movements and operating road traffic on some parts. There are many strange or humorous items to be spotted.
In Mini World land 1 minute is the equivalent of 1 hour, so the dusk and night time happen quite often. As the sun goes down the sky is amber and the street and building lamps turn on.
With so much going on there needs to be somewhere it is all controlled from. A Control room with an array of displays allows the staff to monitor CCTV and computer controlled trains.
