AFGE signs collective bargaining agreement with Defense Contract Audit Agency officials Thursday, Feb. 6 2014.

I sure hope this works, after all, taking down one the Republic's most heavily protected bases with a bunch of bounty hunters isn't exactly the best plan but it's what we've got also we're no normal group of bounty hunters, we're the Shadow Hunters the best of the best in our line of work. This all started in Coruscant when we were going our usual business until someone contacted us promising us a lot of credits if I accept and being the gentleman that I am I was inclined to accept. We got 5,000,000 credits when we accepted and we were promised the rest later but that got us all wondering, who would pay such a high price? Whoever he is, he's smart, in order to go undetected by the Republic my client insisted that we go there by escape pods so that we wouldn't attract much attention to ourselves and to the base which we were hired to infiltrate. The base which we are attacking is Sector 09 are better known as The Blackbox. It rest on the desert moon orbiting Coruscul and it's where the Republic keeps it's darkest secrets and most dangerous weapons. From the outside it looks like a normal outpost but if you look at the details then you can notice that it's actually made of extremely tough black mandalorian steel as well that there are no normal clones protecting it but highly a highly trained clone squad. So in order for this to work we have take out the clones without raising any alarms, defuse the state of the art security system and sneak into the heavily guarded hidden labyrinth beneath the outpost so as I said...I sure hope this works. _________________________________ I'm trying out a new storyline following a group of bounty hunters and their stories of adventure across the galaxy

I just wouldn't get anything done

Oh because...

Built in 1945 for the War Department, this loco was originally fitted with a 153bhp Gardner 6L3 engine, but repowered in the 1950s with the present 6L3B Gardner, rated at 193bhp. Drewry sub-contracted all their locomotive manufacture, so this loco has both Drewry and Vulcan Foundry works Numbers, being one of 15 locos assembled under Vulcan works order 6078/44. Originally numbered 72229 under WD auspices, it was renumbered 838 in the WD's 1951 reorganisation, and after the WD rail operation was restyled as the "Ministry of Defence - Army Department", was renumbered 230 in 1968. Much of its early career was spent at the Army's depot at Stirling, but after BR took over shunting there in 1962, it was deployed at Moreton-on-Lugg and latterly Long Marston. In between, it would return to Bicester for attention.

It finished service with the Army by the late 1980s, but instead of being scrapped was fitted with train air brakes by Yorkshire Engine and transferred to Devonport Dockyard in 1992/3 to shunt nuclear flask wagons in connection with “Trident” nuclear submarines. In so doing it marked the end of the fleet of F C Hibberd "Planet" locomotives (similar to "Pluto") retained, like 230, because of their ability to negotiate the sharp curves within the dock environment. Thus 230, now carrying "Yard No.10432", and accompanying sister loco 249 became two of the oldest industrial locomotives still in operation at the Millenium.

Finally retired in 2006, it passed to Andrew Briddon and was relocated to the Elsecar Heritage Railway, where it has returned to Army green. The vac brake installation was made in order to operate passenger trains, and the dynamo charge system was converted to solid state regulation in 2009.

In 2008 it visited Scunthorpe for the bi-annual AFRPS diesel gala, where pictured above, handling loads of 120tons+ over the Corus complex. By this time it had been repainted in WD "olive drab" but only received its transfers on the first day of the Gala. Strictly this is incorrect, as at the time of carrying this number it would have had the earlier "cast chimney" exhaust rather than the "taper cone" stack.Despite being a lightweight loco with only moderate power Andrew was 'ticked off' for exceeding the site speed limit (there is no speedo on 72229 so this was unintentional) - while hauling two laden coaches and a 50ton 0-6-0 - uphill!

It was in action (in 2009) at Elsecar's Diesel Gala (August 31st) and 1940s weekend (September 6 and 7th), and again at the 2010 Diesel Gala in May and several volunteers passed to drive it regarded it with affection. However during August/September 2010 the Elsecar Heritage Railway Board unexpectedly gave Andrew orders to remove his locos from the railway. The loco joined "James" at the Derwent Valley Railway at York on the 22nd November 2010, and after familiarisation, was in service on the DVLR Santa's traffic in December.

A fully overhauled exhauster was installed during early July 2011, and the loco transferred to Peak Rail, where it took part in the "Warring 40s" events in 2012 ( right) and 2013, in the latter taking on the role of a German loco fleeing the approaching Allies with German troops and equipment! Just prior to this event the cab floor, which had been showing signs of its age, was replaced entirely, its sub-frame being produced by members of the LMS Carriage Association in an exchange of favours. New batteries and re-located battery master switch and cabling were also added to the scope of work while the opportunity presented itself.

Following completion of a dual air & vac distributor and restoration of the air train hoses, the locomotive went "on holiday" to Essex on the 30th January 2014, having been put on loan to the East Anglian Railway Museum at Chappel & Wakes Colne, on the line between Marks Tey and Sudbury.

Chicago Teachers Strike, September 2012

Amara glances at the black business card then at the door. “This is it.” She casually rings the door bell then knocks. “Mr. Mendle, it’s Dr. Dubois from Ashagi. I’d like to discuss the contract if you have time?”

Hector Mendle hears the bell and is grabbing a shirt to put on when the knock and voice come. He opens the door, his shirt opened. "Of course." he lets her come in. "Forgive my state of dress. I often relax as it gets later in the evening." if she looks down she will also notice that he is barefoot.

Amara chuckles, letting herself stroll in casually. “Please don’t mind me. I understand how late it is, but you weren’t at the docks according to Barry." She seemed to smile approvingly of the open shirt and informal dress, her sly grim complimented only by the gentle whisking of her tails. “I wanted to go over the pricing and minor details of your contract with us.”

Hector Mendle nods and leads her into his office. Instead of sitting behind the massive antique desk that could only belong to the boss, he sits in one of the chairs in front of it. It's almost midnight. Formality went out the window hours ago. "Of course. What were you wanting to talk about? Can I get you some coffee, tea? Hell, dinner? Bertha, my secretary keeps the fridge stocked." he chuckles. "She seems to think I live here." he says dryly. But Bertha knows him .... and that is why the fridge is stocked.

Amara waved off the polite offer, following him to the next available chair. “Thank you, but I’ve eaten enough for the day. I can understand the sentiment though; we have foldable couches and such in the lounge for employees taking the longer night shifts.” She carefully crossed her legs as she took out the datapad with the contract. “Considering the location I can be blunt. Most of your work will seem legal in method, but I have more use for your more direct methods of dealing with trouble. How much will such services run?”

Hector Mendle chuckles and motions behind her at the futon couch. He avoids sleeping there all night. He has promises to keep and he keeps them religiously. Then he listens and nods, licking his lips slowly. Since you're asking, I will assume you delved some into my past." he assumes she has *and* has put two and two together where few bother to. But he likes that. "That doubles my fee, I'm afraid. The risks ...." he shrugs. "I do hope you understand. Much of that kind of work I prefer to do alone or with very carefully selected partners."

Hector Mendle adds, "Much of that is covered under 'expenses'"

Amara nods. “Yes, I understand hence why I’m asking for the proper figure.” She grinned after replying, scrolling down to the suggested section of the contract. “It’s not pleasant nor cheap work that I’m asking of you after all. However the more contacts we have, the better for us. It’s not like you don’t know enough about our branch’s work…” That last sentence was dropped with a mild distaste in the tone; Amara was still not pleased the former spouse had been talking.

Hector Mendle nods and sighs. "Not all of us can resist pillow talk, Doctor." he says, almost in Allura's defense. "I was not blameless int he relationship, although Ashagi was not my intended target when I married." he confesses. "And since I do know ... I suppose it wouldn't be the worse decision on Ashagi's part to keep this particular 'law dawg' on a leash, even if it isn't a short one." While he wants the job, he also suspects that keeping him in sight is also part of the plan.

Amara ’s grin widens. “I’m glad you understand, Mr. Mendle. We don’t typically consider this with the spouse or lover of every employee, but you are an exception given your occupation. The branch is responsible for more of Ashagi’s critical ground work; the wrong soul with enough knowledge can cripple that market niche in a second.” She was protecting patents in the end.

Hector Mendle nods. "I was a bit surprised at Allura's …loose lips." he shrugs, not feeling catty. He never had. "But I learned enough and researched a bit more. And frankly .... I'd want me on the payroll also." he means forward a bit. "That being said, I can also be an asset to the company even though I believe jeans are meant to be worn." he admits his scientific knowledge is nill. Or near it. He loves his research, she'll find out if it ever comes down to it. "You can use me to quieten people. Negotiate with them. I am subtle and not ..." he shrugs slightly. "Prone to emotional outbursts usually." he thinks of Lana and how easily she would be to set to explode.

Amara picked up the stylus attached to the pad and started to sign and initial where it was needed. “Good, good. It’s hard to find employees and contractors that don’t leak something to their lovers or close friends. We have to be very particular about our screenings, but that’s not always the case with the ASF.” She sighed at the reference to Lana. “You may need to work with the ASF and the captain from time to time however which is why I wanted things to be very clear.” She’d offer the sighed contract to him. “Here you are.”

Hector Mendle watches her sign and nods. "I am professional when I must be professional." he tells her. "I think you know I could have antagonized the good captain into attacking me, very possibly breaking or destroying many things in this morning’s shipment." he tells her and he believes he could. "I am a lawyer. That's actually part of my job. To find chinks and manipulate them."

Amara leaned forward, her right elbow resting on her folded knee. “And that’s what’s scary about you,” she mused. “Lana’s one whose buttons are easy to push, but it takes a specific hand to actually get her riled up…and an even more cunning hand to know when to avoid provocation.” She was suggesting more there than just Lana of course; pissing off Ashagi was something even the lawyer should be wise enough not to do.

Hector Mendle meets her eyes and smiles. "I pick my battle. Lana is an easy mark. Real sharks.... I am very careful with. I like my limbs exactly where they are...." he understands. Completely.

Amara smiled, showing off more of her fangs rather than the normal looking teeth in the front. “Good. Glad we are clear.” She started to stand up slowly, the chair creaking at the release of weight. “Well thank you for your time even if it was after hours.”

Hector Mendle stands with her and offers her his hand. If she takes it he will give it a more secure squeeze than normal and hold it. "Thank *you*, Doctor." he says with a sincere smile. His strength. Her teeth. It was exciting just to think about. "I always love precise negotiations" in other words .. it is a pleasure to be threatened by someone as lovely as she is. Hey…the boy is charming. Ya have to give him that much.

Amara barely noticed the grip, but given that this was her right cybernetic arm, he might notice the hand felt more artificial than natural. Her natural left hand came to rest on top of his, the warmth likely a reassurance that she was human. “I like to get to the more direct points of endeavors such as this one, Mr. Mendle. It’s one of the reasons I’m in the position I’m in.” Charms aside, she sounded proud yet mildly manipulative in her suggestion of her work ethics.

Hector Mendle smirks. The warmth of one hand and the unnatural feel of the other suggested cybernetics. Well, she did work at Ashagi. "I like direct." he tells her, looking her up and down, as if assessing her, which is exactly what he is doing. "You come to me correct, and I'll give you the same." his hand still holds hers if she will allow.

Warhawk of the Week: Heidi Collins

Beginning in the 1960s, defense cuts and the contracting of the British Empire “east of Suez” led to the retirement of the Royal Navy’s once-significant fleet of carriers, and the cancellation of the CVA-01 class meant to replace them. This left the RN without a true means of power projection, especially since the RN also lacked surface ships heavier than a light cruiser. Before the last of the RN carriers, HMS Ark Royal, was decommissioned, however, the Fleet Air Arm had already been considering a replacement of the deHavilland Sea Vixen strike fighter with a version of the Hawker-Siddeley Kestrel, which would later evolve into the Harrier. Since the Kestrel/Harrier used thrust-vectoring to give it V/STOL capability, this would allow the FAA to keep a fixed-wing component while still allowing the retirement of the Ark Royal. With the Harrier now available, the RN planned three light carriers, the Invincible-class, to operate both them and helicopters; to avoid the notice of Ministry of Defense budget cuts, they were disguised as “through-deck cruisers.”

Since the FAA would need a more advanced aircraft than either the basic Harrier GR.1 or ground attack specialized GR.3, British Aerospace, which had absorbed Hawker-Siddeley, made a number of changes to the basic Harrier design. The Sea Harrier FRS.1 had an entirely new nose section, with a raised cockpit and bubble canopy for better all-around vision, necessary in a dogfight, since the Sea Harriers would also have to defend a task force as well as undertake strike missions. The nose was also larger and longer than the “bottlenose” GR.3, to accommodate the Ferranti Blue Fox radar, needed to guide Sea Eagle antiship missiles, the Sea Harrier’s other role. Some aluminum parts were replaced by steel to better resist corrosion at sea.

The first Sea Harrier FRS.1 entered service in 1978, going to sea aboard both the purpose-built “Harrier carrier” HMS Invincible in 1981, and the World War II-era light carrier HMS Hermes, which had been retained until the rest of the Invincibles could come on line. The Blue Fox radar left a little to be desired, but since the only air-to-air missile available to the Sea Harrier was the AIM-9 Sidewinder heat-seeker, this was not deemed to be a problem, especially as the Sea Harriers would be equipped with the all-aspect AIM-9L. Both carriers were fitted with “ski-jumps” at the end of the flight deck, which allowed the Sea Harriers to take off with full warloads—something not possible using strictly hover mode.

The Sea Harrier would get its first test much sooner than anticipated, however, when Argentina invaded the Falkland Islands in 1982. With the demise of Britain’s fleet carriers, the Sea Harriers were the only fixed-wing aircraft available to defend the task force heading to reclaim the islands. Despite not being really designed for the job it assumed, the Sea Harrier did exceptionally well, shooting down 20 Argentine fighters for no air-to-air losses. While this was initially attributed to the Sea Harrier’s V/STOL capability, in actuality it was due to the superior training of British pilots, the Sea Harrier’s small size, and the fact that the Argentinians were fighting at the edge of their range.

Despite this, the Sea Harrier was obviously in need of upgrading if it was going to continue in the fleet defense role. After the end of the war, the FAA embarked on upgrading the Sea Harrier FRS.2 in 1988, later redesignating it the FA.2. This replaced the Blue Fox with the far superior Blue Vixen, which allowed the FA.2 to carry the AIM-120 AMRAAM, though it wouldn’t be until 1993 that the AMRAAM reached the FAA. Avionics were also upgraded and an improved ECM package fitted. This allowed the Sea Harrier to finally maximize its potential as a fleet defense fighter.

In the end, however, the Sea Harrier would never get a chance to do this, at least in British service. Though seeing action over Bosnia and Serbia in 1995 and 1999, the MoD decided to retire the Sea Harrier beginning in 2002. The FAA had already ordered the F-35B Lightning II to replace the Sea Harrier in 2012, and the MoD, despite protests from the FAA, saw no reason to perform a necessary mid-life upgrade for an aircraft to be retired. This may have proven premature, as the F-35 has since been pushed back to 2016, leaving the FAA jointly flying RAF Harrier GR.9s, which lack the ability to carry AMRAAMs; the Harrier force was retired completely due to budget cuts in 2009. The only other nation to fly the Sea Harrier is India, which acquired 25 Sea Harrier FRS.1s in 1983. These aircraft are being upgraded to carry the Rafael Derby AAM, but though India expressed interest in acquiring second-hand Sea Harrier FA.2s, this fell through due to India buying the MiG-29K Fulcrum for use on full-size carriers and the US being unwilling to supply India with the AMRAAM.

I'd wanted to do a "Shar" for awhile, and I was happy to see that the Minicraft Sea Harrier came with the colors for the aircraft I wanted to build: XZ457, better known as "Black 14." This aircraft was flown by two pilots during the Falklands War who scored three kills (two Mirage IIIs and a single A-4); two of those kills belonged to Flight Lieutenant David Morgan. Morgan was a RAF Harrier pilot seconded to the Fleet Air Arm, who lacked enough Harrier pilots. Morgan's three victories would make him the top scoring pilot of the war. XZ457 survived the war, was upgraded to FA.2 standard, and was retired in 1995. It is today preserved at the Boscombe Down Aviation Collection.

The Sea Harriers at the Falklands were painted overall gunship gray, to better hide them against the sea; this scheme earned them the moniker "Black Death" from their Argentine counterparts. All other markings were removed or toned down to better hide the aircraft as well, and to keep the Argentinians guessing as to how many Sea Harriers the RN had. It is equipped with two AIM-9L Sidewinders. Aside from some decal shine, I liked how this turned out.

"Photocopy of Ruth's contract for the 1916 and 1917 seasons with the Boston Red Sox."

Aurora Aksnes (born 15.6.1996), is a Norwegian singer, songwriter and record producer. Born in Stavanger and raised in the towns of Høle and Os, she began writing her first songs and learning dance at the age of six. After some of her songs were uploaded online and became popular in Norway, she signed a recording contract with Petroleum Records, Decca and Glassnote Records in 2014. Aurora gained recognition with her debut extended play (EP), Running with the Wolves (2015), which contained the sleeper hit "Runaway". Later that year, she provided the backing track for the John Lewis Christmas advert, singing a cover of the Oasis song "Half the World Away".

Aurora's debut studio album, All My Demons Greeting Me as a Friend (2016) received generally positive reviews, charting in various European countries and earning platinum certification two times in Norway. Her second EP Infections of a Different Kind (Step 1) (2018) was the first part of a two-part album, while the second part was her second studio album, A Different Kind of Human (Step 2) (2019). Her third studio album The Gods We Can Touch was released on 21 January 2022.

Her music is primarily electropop, folk, and art pop with vocals referred to as "ethereal". She only played piano at the beginning of her career, but later involved herself in percussion and other aspects of music production. In addition to her solo work, Aurora has collaborated with and co-written songs for other artists, including Icarus, Askjell, Lena, Travis and the Chemical Brothers. She has also contributed to soundtracks for several films and television series, including Girls, Frozen II and Wolfwalkers.

She calls herself a "forest person" due to being surrounded by nature and her love to "climb trees", and being "isolated and hidden".[15] She has also shown interest in the ocean since she lived close to the sea, and her parents have a sailboat.[15][16] When she attended school, her sisters—Miranda (currently her makeup artist) and Viktoria Aksnes (currently her costume designer)—worried that she might be bullied due to her eccentric personality and style of dress.[17] Contrary to this, Aurora's classmates asked for more time than she was willing to give, and she instead preferred to spend time in the forest.[18] She also claimed that withdrawing into natural spaces gave her time to philosophize and discover the "power" of her own mind.[19] As a child, she was afraid of people who sought to hug her and disliked such a gesture in general: "I used to be terrified of people who wanted to hug me", she said. "I did not like to be hugged as a child. And I used to be terrified of one of my teachers at school, but then I met him a few months ago, and it was really nice. It’s weird how things change."[20]

At age nine, when she had a better handle of the English language, she began writing songs.[13] She has mentioned being influenced at that time by artists like Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, Enya, and the Chemical Brothers.[24][25]

According to Aurora, the first song she ever finished writing was titled "The Lonely Man".[33] Her first work before embarking on her music career was washing a pizza restaurant using a hose.[33] Songs from her early works were written in this early stage of her life.[34][35] Another of her early compositions was "I Had a Dream", which referred to how hard the world can be.[25][23] Although she considered it a "really long and boring song about world peace" she performed it once at her high school's leaving ceremony. The recording of her song "Puppet" (which was originally made as a Christmas gift for her parents) and a video filmed by a classmate of her school performance were uploaded online without her permission (which made her angry),[13][36] and was quickly discovered by a representative of the agency of Artists Made Management, a Norwegian management company, who invited Aurora to visit their office for a meeting in early 2013.[37][38] Aurora initially denied the proposal: "At first I thought no", she recalls, "but then my mum said I should think about the idea of sharing my music with the world because maybe there's someone out there who desperately needs it. And that could actually be a good thing".[36] In a few hours, both songs received thousands of visits in Norway, which earned Aurora some recognition in her country, in addition to a fan base on Facebook.[38][21][39]

2012–2016: Running with the Wolves and All My Demons Greeting Me as a Friend

Aurora self-released the song "Puppet" as her debut single in December 2012 under her birth name.[40] Aurora then set about working on her songwriting for around a year before giving her "first proper live performance" at Nabovarsel Minifestival in Bergen. About similar performances to that one she said: "I don’t think I was born to be an entertainer, I used to really be afraid of playing live on-stage. Obviously it’s terrifying! But now I’ve learned to, and I’ve learned to not focus on myself, cause it’s not about me. Now I only think about giving everyone the best experience. A magic moment."[20][41] Her second single, "Awakening", followed in March 2014, which became the first one released under the stage name Aurora.[42] Her third single "Under Stars" was the first one signed to her labels Glassnote Records and Decca Records, released in November 2014. Both songs established her as a "Promising Artist" of 2015 and attracted the attention of critics in Europe and the United States, especially for the artist's voice. Her next single "Runaway" was released in February 2015, which gained attention from singers Katy Perry and Troye Sivan.

Her next single, "Running with the Wolves" was released in April 2015, and its music video was released two months later. The song gained attention from BBC Radio station.[49] It was released alongside the announcement of the release of her debut EP Running with the Wolves.[50] Released in May 2015 on digital platforms, the EP received positive reviews from online music blogs and national press. To promote the EP, she appeared at summer festivals such as Way Out West, Wilderness, and Green Man Festival. Aurora's next single, "Murder Song (5, 4, 3, 2, 1)", was released in September 2015 and has received continued support in the national press, on national radio, and popular online music blogs.[51] Aurora also performed at the 2015 Nobel Peace Prize Concert,[52] saying that she and her family "have been following it from the living room at home for many years", and "it is an incredibly beautiful thing to be a part of."[53] Her presentation was praised by the concert's host Jay Leno.[54] She has played a sold-out headline show in London and supported Of Monsters and Men at Brixton Academy in November 2015.[55] Aurora recorded a cover of the Oasis song "Half the World Away" for the 2015 John Lewis Christmas advert.[56] Her next single, titled "Conqueror", was released in January 2016, and a music video was released the following month. Before the single release, the song appeared in the soundtrack of the videogame FIFA 16.[57]

In early 2016, Aurora featured on British band Icarus' song "Home" and released a cover of David Bowie's "Life on Mars" for the HBO Girls television series.[58][59][60] After a prolific start with her first musical productions, she released her debut album All My Demons Greeting Me as a Friend in March 2016,[61] receiving generally positive reviews from critics. After releasing the album, Aurora embarked on an international concert tour beginning in Australia that lasted more than a year.[62]

On 14 March 2016, Aurora made her American television debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, performing "Conqueror", which was later performed on Conan.[63] On 25 July 2016 she performed her cover of "Life on Mars" on The Howard Stern Show. The following night on 26 July, she performed "I Went Too Far" on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, which was later released as the album's fifth single. The album's sixth and final single "Winter Bird" was released on 20 December. Aurora became the first in a series of emerging artists to partner with YouTube for a creative content distribution program,[64] she also starred in her own short documentary directed by Isaac Ravishankara and produced by The Fader, titled "Nothing is Eternal."[65]

2017–2019: Infections of a Different Kind and A Different Kind of Human[edit]

When All My Demons Greeting Me as a Friend debuted, Aurora said that it was "the first album of many" she was planning to release.[66] As of 12 May 2016, after coming back from her European tour, the singer announced that she was ready to begin writing and producing more material, which will form her second studio album. She stated in a Facebook event that she has fifteen demo songs and has written a thousand songs/poems. Her next project consisted of covering the song "Scarborough Fair" for the Brazilian telenovela Deus Salve o Rei and filming the opening sequence for it.[67] Between April and August 2018, the singer released two singles, "Queendom" and "Forgotten Love",[68][69] which would be included in the first half of a two-part album divided into "steps".[70] Aurora recorded the album during her stay in France in January of that year, and the production included the producers Askjell Solstrand, Roy Kerr and Tim Bran, with Aurora herself also involved in this aspect.[15] Some of that new material was anticipated in live performances, including festivals like Lollapalooza and Coachella.[71][72]

While maintaining some of the themes and stories of the previous album, this production would mark the first time that Aurora has incorporated themes of politics and sexuality into her music.[73] Most of the new inspiration came from the interaction that she had with her fans during her first tour.[74] The music video for "Queendom" saw its release in May 2018, which presented themes of inclusivity and empowerment of "the underdog", particularly her LGBT fans. In the video, Aurora kisses one of her female dancers to convey that "every type of love is accepted and embraced" in her "queendom".[75]

On 28 September 2018, the singer released the first half of her second album on EP format,[70] under the title Infections of a Different Kind (Step 1). The EP features eight songs,[76] and the title itself comes from the eighth track included on it, which Aurora declared as "the most important song I've ever written".[77] A Different Kind of Human (Step 2) followed on 7 June 2019, with lead singles "Animal" and "The River".

On 12 April 2019, Aurora contributed with co-writing and vocals in the songs "Eve of Destruction", "Bango", and "The Universe Sent Me" for the Chemical Brothers' ninth album No Geography.[78] On 4 November 2019, the soundtrack to the Disney film Frozen II was released, with Aurora providing backing vocals on the song "Into the Unknown". On 9 February 2020, she performed the song on stage as part of the 92nd Academy Awards alongside Idina Menzel and nine singers that dubbed the song in their respective languages.[79] She released her solo version of "Into the Unknown" as a standalone single on 3 March 2020.[80]

Aurora released the single "Exist for Love" in May 2020, which was presented as her first love song ever with a self-directed music video.[81] The song was made during the COVID-19 lockdown in collaboration with Isobel Waller-Bridge, who composed the string arrangements.[81] It was the first glimpse into what she described as "a new era" in her career, with the upcoming release of a new album.[82] Under the musical direction of Gaute Tønder, she recorded the title track of the Christmas miniseries Stjernestøv [no] for Norwegian public broadcaster NRK; such contribution was made known in mid-November of the same year.[83] She also provided her vocals on the songs "Vinterens Gåte" and "Det Ev Ei Rosa Sprunge" (Norwegian version of the German song "Es ist ein Ros entsprungen"), from the album Juleroser by Herborg Kråkevik, in which the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra and other Norwegian artists.[84] She also re-recorded her track "Running with the Wolves" for the animated fantasy and adventure film Wolfwalkers.[85]

In early 2021, she released five compilation EPs in celebration of her song "Runaway" receiving over 100 million streams on Spotify: For the Humans Who Take Long Walks in the Forest, Music for the Free Spirits, Stories, For the Metal People and Music for the Fellow Witches Out There throughout February.[86] On 7 July 2021, Aurora released the single "Cure for Me" as the lead single for the forthcoming album.[87] On 14 October, "Giving in to the Love" was released as the album's third single, and The Gods We Can Touch was announced for release on 21 January 2022.[88] Aurora featured in Sub Urban's song "Paramour", released on 19 November as a single for the latter's upcoming debut album.[89] She also released the song "Midas Touch for the soundtrack of the third season of the Amazon Prime Video Hanna series. To promote The Gods We Can Touch, she announced a concert tour throughout the United States and Europe (with Sub Urban, Sei Selina and Metteson as supporting acts) in 2022.[90] "Heathens" was released on 3 December 2021 as the album's fourth single, and a virtual concert film was announced, which released exclusively to Moment House on 25 January 2022, a week later after the album's release.[91][92] A collaborative event with the video game Sky: Children of the Light was released on 17 October 2022, which included a virtual concert that premiered on 8 December after The Game Awards 2022 and reoccurred from 9 December until 2 January 2023.
