March 2009: Continued construction at Union Square, Guild Street, Aberdeen with Retail Terrace units on Market Street
I ended up continuing the pattern inwards, for a total of 32 rhombii, each one is scaled down 8/9ths from the previous, shifted over twice it's base, and rotated 80 degrees, so after 8, they are back in the same alignment, so it can either be seen as 8 lines, 4 curves, or one spiral. The shape of each rhombus is the same as the shape formed from the corners of any 4 sequential rhombii.
This is apparently what happens when I take time off work.
Cutting the little central ones out with an exacto knife was stressful, but Mylar is neat stuff. It doesn't stretch, and if you crease it, you can iron it flat.
All part of the drive as we drove on. Going from the top of the mountain back down was the most epic mountain pass I have driven. Just huge views and switchbacks back and forth with big drops. Alicia wasn't as excited about the drive as I was.
I want to start a campaign...
WE need more curved architecture in new developments. Rigid straight lines are last century lets see the new world already!!!!!!
It's 2007 people where is the future we have been promised? Nature doesn't make straight rigid lines. Since developers are stealing all the natural beauty around us they should at least build buildings that are pleasant to look at.
Continuing with my Unit 3 project, I created this piece of work. The original images were inspired by Brad Wagner. I then edited the image on Photoshop.
Thankyou to Hannah Mackenzie for modelling for me for this shoot.
We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.

To continue the strangeness of 2020...I no longer have to worry about these sycamore or cypress trees being cut down.
🌲
Long story short, our elderly neighbor passed recently and we were able to get the empty lot between our houses that was owned and maintained by her family. After she died, they said it just didn’t feel the same to keep it.
🌲
The bluebirds absolutely love the sycamore tree. I want to make “the lot” much more wildlife friendly.
🌲
If you have any unique or upcycle friendly yard & bird/wildlife ideas, please share!

For those interested, here is a list of my gear that I have found works well for me. This is, of course, an affiliate link and your enjoyment of these may vary:
Continuing my wanderings after sunset I had put away my camera as I didn't have a tripod nor my fast lenses when I chanced apon a large group of young partiers at the English Bay Innucksuk. The scen was surreal, I had to see if I could get shots.
I manually over road everything, setting my Nikon D3s to the max, H3, effective ISO of 102,000! Even then the beast was not giving a long enough exposure on the automatic settings, so I went totally manual. I found I could get something shooting at 1/15or 1/30, stupid slow with a 28 -300mm f3.5-63 lens, and no tripod. I improrovised, using logs and benches to steady myself and the camera. Well I did get something. These shots wouldn't make decent prints, but they are better than not getting any shots. I do wish I had my 85mm f1.4 lens and a tripod so I could have a least a few printable shots of the "Decentralized Dance Party" on English Bay.

Continuing in my 40 days of writing to God, yesterday's prayer-writing prompt had me using my five sense to pray. So for the sense of touch I wrote this: "I pray with my fingers as I accept the embrace of my sweet children, or pick up a pen to write & sketch - grateful for the ability to touch & feel & make."
