MLK, Jr. 2019 Birthday celebration would see the harbinger of non-violent change turning 90 years old in 2019. But 218 Volunteers from military Veterans with The Mission Continues, @Starbucks and our wonderful Clarkston, Ga. community turned out with smiles and determination to better the lives of our immigrant community, church congregants and Clarkston Refugee Center supporters (oh yes, the mayor of Clarkston was lending a hand as well) grabbed some brushes, mulch, drills and positivity to do what Atlanta does - git-er-done!
Benches, tables, a bit of cosmetic touch-up and hugs (lots of hugs, y'all) let us know what being a nation of immigrants is about. Supporting our sisters and brothers that make us, as a Nation, Ah-mazing! #SquadGoals were definitely realized during this frigid day and I am sure Dr. King, Jr. would THANK YOU ALL for your service to others.

As of 2013, the old Imperial Oil property at the foot of Broad St. has
sat deteriorating for well over a decade. You'd think SOMEBODY
might have some use for it! Big potash sheds in the background
have blocked views of Courtenay Bay and the outer harbour since
the early 1980s.
Do you remember that episode of "Dexter's Lab" when Dexter accidentally gets transported to that old, dilapidated part of his lab?
photo taken for Jason ;-) ... and for me too as I find this fascinating at full-size. But we all know I'm a bit strange.
I continued refining my reflection feature in my camera program. I got vertical and four-way reflection working for still images. (Vertical reflection still doesn't work for live images but four-way reflection does...)
I am still tracking down the pesky bug that leaves lines in the middle and edges of the image. I thought it was related to the dimensions of the image so I changed all the images to have even dimensions but that didn't have any noticeable effect, unfortunately. Also, unfortunately, it's a "non-trivial" task (as one of my professors from long ago said) to debug a Metal kernel on an iPhone.
Four-way reflection takes one of the quadrants of the image (upper-left, upper-right, lower-right, or lower-left) and reflects it to the other three quadrants. The result is usually rather queasy...
Nice (but not any more) portrait of Mark Twain from the early 1900s.

This is the way the DNR get the fish eggs or caviar from the female. They rub her belly and the eggs just squirt out in a stream of eggs. What a sight to see...
