Nederland, Noord-Brabant, gemeente Grave, 15-11-2010. Maaskant,
stuw en sluis bij Grave. Het sluis- en stuwcomplex is gebouwd in het kader van de Maasnormalisatie. De Maas is een regenrivier, met met name in de winter grote wateraanvoer (ook door smeltwater). De vakwerkbrug is voor lokaal verkeer.
Weir and lock at Grave. The lock and weir (or dam) complex is built during the Meuse Standardization. The river Meuse is a rain river, with high water levels, especially during the winter (also by melt water). The truss bridge for local traffic.

Bauarbeiten am S-Bhf. Yorckstraße (Großgörschenstraße) - S1 - für den Austauschen der alten Brücken des Gleises Richtung Wannsee / Potsdam finden bereits seit vielen Monaten statt und sind inzwischen abgeschlossen; jetzt ist die Gegenrichtung dran.
Vor ein paar Monaten wurde endlich ein Baustellenschild aufgestellt und ein Ende der Bauarbeiten tatsächlich für den 20.12.2014 (!) angekündigt. Lassen wir uns überraschen mit wie viel Verspätung dieses Bauprojekt erledigt wird.
Inzwischen gibt es Veröffentlichungen, die als Endtermin für die Bauarbeiten das Frühjahr 2015 bzw. September 2015 nennen. Mal sehen was dann stimmt!

The construction work was in full swing when I took this photo last summer. What you can see here is not the new station (which would be erected a bit more to the right) but a connecting structure which will feature the switches by which the monorail trains are transfered into the train shed and workshop.

Work starts on the construction of a new town pond and revamping the top of the High Street, Watford.
I Geo-Tagged these photographs so that you can identified where I visited. My photographs show a very narrow road that one needs to walk from Laughanstown Tram Stop to get to the old church and graveyard at Tully. As you can see from my photographs some people are are using the area as a rubbish dump. There are signs of extensive construction work under way in the area but some elements have the appearance of a stalled project.
If you visit this road take care as there is a surprising amount of traffic.
Laughanstown: The spelling of this name has varied considerably over time, and in some periods was almost indistinguishable from Loughlinstown, the name of which also varied. The spelling Laughanstown was adopted and fixed at the
time of the original Ordnance Survey in the 1830s. However, the evidence suggests that the name used locally was Lehaunstown, and this was noted by the Boundary Survey in the 1820s. Local usage did not change as a result
of the Ordnance Survey’s attempt to impose a new spelling.
A 60's 70's conrete 25 storey (ish) office block rising up above the new shard development and London Bridge Underground station, which was at the time, having a full on terror scare (not us!), walking around looking at possible things on the shard site we spotted a nice opportunit so took it.
It made for a nice new high view up into central london & the city.
All shot on kodak portra 160NC (my fav, can you tell?).
Not the tallest of towers, but gave great views.

A breaker, often referred to as a "hoe ram" or "ho rammer", is used at the Kansas City Southern site for demolition work.
A breaker is a powerful percussion hammer fitted to an excavator for demolishing concrete structures or rocks. It is powered by an auxiliary hydraulic system from the excavator, which is fitted with a foot-operated valve for this purpose. Additionally, demolition crews employ the hoe ram for jobs too large for jack hammering or areas where blasting is not possible due to safety or environmental issues.
