Bauarbeiten am S-Bhf. Yorckstraße (Großgörschenstraße) - S1 - für den Austauschen der alten Brücken des Gleises Richtung Wannsee / Potsdam finden bereits seit vielen Monaten statt. Vor ein paar Monaten wurde endlich ein Baustellenschild aufgestellt und ein Ende der Bauarbeiten tatsächlich für den 20.12.2014 (!) angekündigt. Lassen wir uns überraschen mit wie viel Verspätung dieses Bauprojekt erledigt wird.
A silt fence (foreground) is installed adjacent to construction work at the Highland Avenue on-ramp to Interstate 10. The fence protects adjacent streams and wetlands from storm water run-off. Erosion control is an important focus for the construction teams.

Drivers enter Interstate 10 using the Highland Avenue on-ramp. Traffic control devices keep commuters and construction workers safe as work continues to add an additional lane to the on-ramp.

Preparatory operations in full swing: A temporary support for the new terminus station has been erected (left hand side of the photo) and a housing for the elevater has been delivered by a truck (right hand side). The station building itself has yet to be built. (Summer of 2007)

Work continues on the new pond at The Parade, Watford. Steps? Are we going to be allowed down to the water's edge to paddle?
I learned that the garden is being transformed in a major way for a special event taking place next month. A dance floor is being built over the pool! (Or maybe the guard was pulling my leg, but it does look like they are building a floor over the pool.)

I live in Henrietta Place and the whole area has been a large building site for many years and at times the impact has been extreme mainly because of the Luas Cross-City Tram Project but there have been a number of other projects and programmes including the new museum in Henrietta Street [the building site was directly outside my bedroom] and the Grangegorman College Campus project. I have just discovered that a new hotel is planned for Bolton street and there may be a new apartment block at Henrietta Place.
