HDR - I don't usually shoot manmade subjects but there was so much colourful activity going on at the Clyde River, Batemans Bay, NSW Austalia, where the new bridge is being built, I thought it worth capturing. Bracketed set of three images taken on phone camera and then combined to HDR and tone-mapped on computer.

In nature some insects pupate .... and during construction most buildings do too. The construction or parts of it appear during the closing stages of the building process from the temporary coloured safety netting.
Displayed here is the netting (billowing in the wind) hanging from the roof of the train shed. Those little squares are photovoltaic elements.
Earlier, the sky cleared as the sun was about to set (after what seemed to be an eternity of rain). Holed up at home, resting a sore shoulder and a stiff neck, I made a last-minute decision to shoot at Marina Bay. Yes, I made time to shoot. =)

There was some heavy construction works near my apartment in the summer of 2012., so one night I took an opportunity and went for a night photo-session in the middle of the parked machinery. Now, in that location, we have a nice park with fountains. Taken one night in August 2012.

Chengdu is the capital city of the inland province of Sichuan and has over 6 million inhabitants in its "metro" area. Sichuan borders on the Tibetan plateau and is far away from China's coastal provinces that have seen such rapid development in the last decades. The large population of Sichuan has delivered a lot of the workers to coastal factories.
Sichuan is now catching up. To spread China's new found wealth inland, the government is allocating more money to places like Sichuan. As usual this is done through massive investments in infrastructure and real estate, particularly in the capital city.
One of the products is Chengdu East Railway Station, from where high speed trains depart. As you can see, the station is still somewhat outside the urban area, where a lot of construction is going on.
I have not seen what plans they have for this area, but I would not be surprised if it soon fills up a checkerboard pattern of broad roads and highrise offices or flats. Almost all Chinese cities look like this and so do other parts of Chengdu. If there are any things specific to Chengdu, then these are its charming people and a few parks.
