As requested by one of my long time Flickr contacts here’s a photo of a rather unusual and quite rare old motor car. Thanks for the suggestion Andrew.
The German car manufacturer Borgward had a stable of different marques that it produced, one being Lloyd. Following the war and during a period of austerity and lack of resources car manufacturers had to consider alternative build techniques. This is most evident in this model. The Lloyd LP 300 had a timber and plywood frame and an outer skin of synthetic leather (yes you read that correct). Its name came from its engine, as it used a 293cc side valve design. This may all sound very basic but it was aimed as a competitor for the VW Beetle. It undercut the Beetle a little and was more economical but less sophisticated and roomy. In the end its two production run came to an end in 1952 after 18,097 were built. The name Lloyd and its parent company continued to build cars until the company folded in 1963.

Anyone who considers ladybugs cute (I include myself) should consider this photo. I found this ladybug chowing down on a mass of little insects on the underside of a bean leaf. If you look very, very closely, you can see the remains of aphids and other tiny insects beneath the ladybug. I can not identity all of the tiny insects on the buffet table, but there are some aphids, which ladybugs favour. I'm in the process of preparing my computer for a major upgrade, so I've been working through my archived photos. The shot was taken in August 2017, with my trusty Olympus digital camera. Enjoy.

Since I consider myself somewhat of an expert on Snowy Egrets and Utqiaġvik is known for its population of Snowy Owls, I felt quite confident there would be opportunity during my recent visit to the Arctic to profit from such synergy. But apparently Snowy Egrets and Snowy Owls don't share as much in common as I had anticipated. Of the two birds I spotted, the closest I got was this heavily cropped, distant view while kneeling under a low-hung pipeline.

-blu o gggialla?

To all my Jazzercise and Zumba peeps, thank you for sharing the fun times with me. Also, thanks to my family for listening to me plunk away on the piano as I keep on trying to learn. I appreciate my parents for their love of music and passing that interest to me. Some of my best memories all have to do with music.

I consider myself a nature photographer but I do enjoy trying my hand at other types of macros. This is a simple row of peas on a piece of paper.
I did get practice using my new macro slide rail for this shot. Hope the practice pays off for Spring plants, flowers, and mushrooms.

Please consider this a work in progress. Still, it was such fun to create that I couldn't resist the post. All my thanks to Nancy and our dog Sofie for being so patient while I took the 16 images which comprise this picture. I couldn't resist stepping into one of the openings.
Have a great week and thanks for the visit
"Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 28 But if God so clothes the grass, which is alive in the field today, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith! 29 And do not seek what you are to eat and what you are to drink, nor be worried. 30 For all the nations of the world seek after these things, and your Father knows that you need them. 31 Instead, seek his kingdom, and these things will be added unto you." Luke 12:27-30
It's a pretty basic concept that we should trust in God to provide our needs, and yet I am one that fails in this area regularly! He's never let me down and yet I still panic inside when my business slows down and the bills pile up. It's good for me to stop and consider the lilies.
During stressful times I find myself dreaming of the ocean. There are few things as wonderful as simply walking along the beach at sunset. The Calla Lilies in this photo meander along a small creek that leads to the sea. If you look closely you can just barely see the waves at the end of the valley. After shooting the lilies the sun sank into the horizon and the light faded. I put my camera and tripod on my shoulder and walked out along the beach. The seagulls circled around calling out the way seagulls do. I stood there listening to the sounds and watching the waves. Suddenly a big swell rolled up the beach and before I knew it I was knee deep in ocean! I figured since I was all wet I may as well take a few long exposures before it was totally dark. It was fun but none of the images were worth keeping. It didn't matter. I had the lilies I came for and I was happy.
There's something that intrigues me about the lilies in this photo. Nearly everyone has the same response when I show them this photo. "Wow! Those don't even look real!!" Well all of these flowers were very real. I searched through each and every one for over an hour before planting my tripod in this spot. The lilies were so fresh and perfect on that day. But it's been a few weeks since then. All of the perfect flowers in this image are now more like dried raisins. It's kind of a weird thought isn't it? I've often felt that photography is like putting time in a bottle.
Thanks for stopping by.
I consider myself lucky to live right next to the famous and infamous Sherwood Forest in Nottinghamshire. It's literally only a mile or so from my house.
So it would be rude not to venture in to the forest with a backpack full of lights and knock out a quick shot like this. I quite like creating the sense of scale with a small figure and massive trees.
I consider lace to be one of the prettiest imitations ever made of the fantasy of nature; lace always evokes for me those incomparable designs which the branches and leaves of trees embroider across the sky, I do not think that any invention of the human spirit could have a more graceful or precise origin.

Oldie but a goodie. Freestyle painted in 1994 with Chen under the south Minneapolis Tracks. This piece was really significant at the time and was a relatively different style then people were used to seeing in Minneapolis. I basically rocked a piece in what I consider to be a style in the culture of Cali graffiti at the time. It wasn't as good as what I was used to seeing but I was so infuenced at the time by writers that I had grown up admiring like Risky, Power, Slick, Hex, Dream (L.A.), Green and Charlie that it came out in my style. Originally, I painted with Chen but he never finished and I did. Funny thing is, while painting this, I had a younger writer (now a famous T.C. writer) and his Mom, stand behind me and watch me and ask me questions the whole time. I didn't mind. At them time, I was just flattered to have anyone take notice. Also, when I came back a few days later to try to get a photo, I didn't realize that there was a group of people sitting up on the embankment behind the wall. When I took the photo, I heard some people start screaming and yelling at me. I began to walk away and noticed that a small mob had decided to attempt to snatch my camera and jump me. As they approached, I took off running to gain a distance on them. I figured I had a better shot at fighting one or two that followed before the rest caught up. I ran about 10 blocks with some of them on my tail. I finally stopped when it was me and only one other dude. I grabbed the biggest rock I could find and quickly turned and started to go for him. As I got about 5 feet away, he realized that he was alone and that I had now become the aggressor and he stopped dead in his tracks. I think that he had thought that I would be afraid of him. With a giant rock in my hand, I wasn't afraid of shit. He paused and I started to threaten him. He couldn't understand me because he only spoke Spanish but knew I meant business. Right about then, a female approached and intervened. She stated, "He thought you were trying to take a picture of us. We are homeless and drug addicts. We were using drugs and he thought you took a picture of us. Don't hurt him." I told her to tell him I was only taking pictures of my graffiti. She did. He quickly changed his demeaner and when I saw him change to a nonaggressive attitude, I put the rock down. We clearly had a stand off that was based off of a misunderstanding. He looked me over and then they turned and walked back to join their group and I climbed the bridge embankment I was at and went home. It was A really intense sitiuation and I am glad that nothing bad ended up happening. It could have been bad on both our ends. Crazy times!

Je me souviens !

I consider today a milestone for my 365. This is my third 365 photo project and I always find the first 99 days the hardest to get through and I get a little bit excited once I have reached the 100 day mark. Triple digits!! As a kid I remember being so excited to turn 10 years old. Double digits! Geez, I wish I could go back to being a single digit age. :)
When I went to the Dollarstore and bought the candles the cashier got excited and asked me if someone in my family would be celebrating their 100th birthday. I replied "No, these candles are just for a project I am working on." If she only knew lol. The candles might not be used for a birthday, but today deserved cupcakes, right?
100 down....only 265 more to go! lol
