Smartphones are perennial. They are social devices that turn us all into introverts. Seems to contradict itself, right? This is why I took this photo. People spend more time scrolling through feeds than they do conversing. They scroll in silence, turning a blind eye to the world around them. They trade their senses for a newsfeed. To take this photo, I posed in my make shift studio wearing duct tape across my mouth and a headband over my eyes. As far as editing goes, I adjusted levels, curves, color tones, and then messed around with various square brushes and masking layers. The edit took around 45min, which is not too time consuming at all.

The text in this photo really allows me to communicate with the viewer. This photo is a little dark, but in reality I'm trying to send a simple message: get off your phone. I believe the text "connected" allows the viewer to interpret my photo in various ways. The word can mean many things, but really ties together the ideas that humans themselves are becoming one with technology; and maybe even dominated by it. We are connecting with our own machines, and starting to act like them ourselves.

Mile End Beach San Francisco

At the moment we're being taught about wooden constructions at KADK, The royal academy of fine arts, and of course we had to see this example of perfect construction.

The 250 year old mast houses, today beautifully renovated offices.

Just looking at this photo you can feel the power in this picture. You know what I mean?

Don't ask what bit of a wool Making machine this is, as I have really no idea, but it sure made a great subject.

“The reason it hurts so much to separate is because our souls are connected. Maybe they always have been and will be. Maybe we've lived a thousand lives before this one, and in each of them we've found each other”

Connected is what you can't help feeling, watching this spectacle ...

Connected with the entirety of nature, with the music of the spheres, with the protective embrace of our star's gentle winds, with the endless solar systems populating the spiral arms of billions of Galaxies which coalesce and evaporate and reform as the our Universe goes on expanding into the endless night of creation.

In a nutshell, we seem to be moving toward a culture where being anywhere but here is the prevailing norm. Yet, some would argue we are as connected as ever. Wondrous times.

I'd be the wings to shelter you.

I'd go through a blizzard just to cradle you

I'd be the stars to light your path.

I'd see your dreams anytime.

Wind, wind, fly away.

and right up to morning

I'll stay waiting for you.

I'd show you the black sky.

I'd be the tide to rock you to sleep.

I'd be a tranquil lullaby.

Just as the ships swim through dreams...
