A Bridge I Photoshopped.

#AB_FAV_MEMORIES_🎠

I could stand there for hours and admire these works of Art.

It stimulates my imagination! FUERTEVENTURA.

On our first free afternoon, we decided to explore the local harbour of Morro Jable.

The ferry to Lanzarote and the other islands, leaves from it, for the rest it moors a few yachts, some catamarans, a place for jet skis, but best of all the local colourful fishing boats, we were too late to catch them with the people, it was siesta time!

Wandering around, I discovered at the bottom of the rocks the tiniest 'beach', only a sandy corner.

Climbing and jumping down, I saw all the patterns the small lapping sea waves had painted in the sand.

I felt like I had struck gold, this was photography paradise.

Needless to say I have MANY???

But I find this a SUPER that will go on the wall, it made me think of charcoal drawings on coarse grainy paper.

I fact Fuerteventura is a volcanic island, and THAT is what ‘paints’ the sand.

Please let me know what you think? Hope you like it?

Have a great day and thanks for your visit, M, (*_*)

Cyclamen are native to the Mediterranean region from Spain east to Iran, and also in northeast Africa south to Somalia.

The cyclamen commonly sold by florists is Cyclamen Persicum, which is frost-tender.

Selected cyclamen cultivars can have white, bright pink, red or purple flowers.

While flowering, florists' cyclamens should be kept below 20 °C (68 °F), with the night time temperatures preferably between 6.5 °C to 15 °C (44 °F to 59 °F).

Temperatures above 20 °C (68 °F) may induce the plant to go dormant.

I tried a ‘different’ composition.

Have a good day and thanks for your visit, so very much appreciated, Magda, (*_*)

SILK WHITE CYCLAMENS

This is only a small plant, but on the windowsill in my kitchen, it seems to thrive in the Northern light, these beauties here seem to fight for the light.

Cyclamen are native to the Mediterranean region from Spain east to Iran, and also in northeast Africa South to Somalia.

The name Cyclamen is presumed to come from Greek 'kyclos', a circle referring to the round tubers, or leaves.

Lovely inverted flowers rise out of fantastically patterned rounded or heart-shaped leaves.

Some of the patterns, particularly the silver leaved varieties are exquisite and can truly be described as a wonder of nature.

From the family Primulaceae, they come in beautiful colours from white, pink, purple, red and combinations of these.

Cyclamen like the cool; the smaller the leaves, the cooler they can stand it.

The tubers are regarded as the favourite food for pigs in the South of France, Sicily and Italy, hence a rather uncommon common name Sowbread.

Cyclamen are poisonous; they have been used medicinally as a powerful purgative, but their toxicity makes this risky.

Have a glorious day and thank you, M, (*_*)

Thomas Thurner

The work “The Trainer” from the collection of the AGNSW Sydney does represent a series of sculptures and installations originated and exhibited for the first time in New York in 1990.

Books are editions of novels in English. In this installation was created a two functional space in which were combined functions which are not compatible in the reality, what does refer to artistic ideas of the surrealism. Real books used in this work and an equipment for boxing are found objects, what does refer to ideas of Marcel Duchamp.

Each book is fixed in an individual wooden box in a way that the title has been hidden, but pages do shape in each case a unique form.

Because of these differences in the shape, the viewer is able to see different fragments of the text in each book.

I know now, with total certainty, that this is my favourite photo of the entire year of 2018.

Fun thing is this was far from being the final result when i first captured the base image, at 11pm, in a cold pool during a weekend getaway with a dear friend of mine, who was laughing hard and helping with my camera - as the best human tripod and assistant - while i was cold to the bone with a dress in a not heated pool.

I came home, used images from this shoot and suddenly something took over me and this happened.

To this day i am proud, i am happy and i look at this image with a certain fondness and pride.

taken in Salford, Manchester, Lancashire.

Named after the Greek god of wind, Aeolus – Acoustic Wind Pavilion is a giant instrument and optical sculpture, crafted by Luke Jerram.

It was singing away in Canary Wharf, Aeolus allows wind to resonate through polished steel tubes and along vibrating strings attached to the tubes.

The hum produced is attuned to the aeolian scale and registers even in the lowest of winds, creating a soundscape of the environment throughout the day.

The pavilion itself is a remarkable feat of elegant engineering as each protrusion reflects the sky light to the centre of the harp-like structure combining the particular nuances of light and sound into a quite beautiful and situationally unique performance.

With love to you and thank you for ALL your faves and comments, M, (* _ *)

What am I looking at?

Michael Rawling’s Elemental Series uses traditional film combined with Found Materials at every photograph’s location to create a new way of representing the landscape.

.

.

How do you do this??

Tiny amounts of water, windfall organic and mineral samples are collected from the very landscape depicted within each picture - and chemically bonded with the film over ~12 months. The result: a developed film and unedited, printed images that are somewhere between a classic photographs & a totally abstract image, depicting the interaction between fundamental chemical elements present at each place & time, representing a more visceral and literal experience of being present in landscapes in a constant state of natural or unnatural flux.

connecting two unrelated things

the exercise is as follows (click image for full results):

1. Choose an experience from your day (this is subject #1). today i was speaking to a friend about intuition.

2. Ask a friend for a subject. (subject #2) My husband told me to research the sound artist Toshiya Tsunoda.

3. Conduct research on both subjects, and make connections between them.

note: the point at which you start to believe that they have nothing in common, is where it usually starts to get interesting. at some point in my research i found a common denominator which was fascinating to me; both subjects are based on the reading of electromagnetic fields! upon figuring this out I triumphed and felt like my work was done here.
