The picture sequence in the Group "Last Religion" (LR) demonstrates aspects of tradtional religious systems.

Supplementary declaration

One of the powerful tools of flickr enables us to declare:

"All pictures of all groups at flickr related to the search term "religion" as far as containing relations to religious phenomenons under www.flickr.com/search/groups/?q=religion are subject to the art project of Gruppe Or-Om: 'Clash of Civilizations and the Last Religion'." Don't hesitate to use this additional tool!

Disclaimer and Transgression

We state expressly that our project does not mean, that we can be identified with the contents of the pictures of other groups. Quite the contrary: our project transgresses all positions of all traditional and contemporary religious systems and their positions.

Basics of the Project

Most conflicts between religious systems (wars, terrorism, genocides and structures of violence) are political struggles concerning the (neo-colonial) distribution of materialistic and spiritual resources and capitals in the world system. This is the background of the conflict (Clash of Civilizations) between the (Christianity-Judaism)-dominated states of 'Western civilization' (18-years old pubescents) and the Islam-dominated systems of states (15 years old pubescents) after 100 years lasting colonial domination. Finally the LR delivers the basics for harmonic global social formations and distribution of resources between all nations as the life-form of adult subjects. The LR – as a new era of enlightenment – reveals the double deficiencies in the 'Western civilization': its unjust dominant structural violence in the world system and its immatureness according to the political and social parameters of the adult LR. The LR transforms and completes the concept of Social Sculpture formulated by Joseph Beuys.

What am I looking at?

Michael Rawling’s Elemental Series uses traditional film combined with Found Materials at every photograph’s location to create a new way of representing the landscape.

.

.

How do you do this??

Tiny amounts of water, windfall organic and mineral samples are collected from the very landscape depicted within each picture - and chemically bonded with the film over ~12 months. The result: a developed film and unedited, printed images that are somewhere between a classic photographs & a totally abstract image, depicting the interaction between fundamental chemical elements present at each place & time, representing a more visceral and literal experience of being present in landscapes in a constant state of natural or unnatural flux.

MINI Tomatoes...they showed attitude... and there was a multitude...

An heirloom tomato (also called heritage tomato in the UK) is an open-pollinated (non-hybrid) heirloom cultivar of tomato.

Heirloom tomatoes have become increasingly popular and more readily available in recent years.

The tomato is native to South America and a prehistoric introduction to Central America and Southern parts of North America.

Genetic evidence shows that the progenitors of tomatoes were herbaceous green plants with small green fruit with a center of diversity in the highlands of Peru.

Some believe Spanish explorer Cortez may have been the first to transfer the small yellow tomato to Europe after he captured the Aztec city of Tenochtítlan in 1521, now Mexico City.

Yet others believe Christopher Columbus, an Italian working for the Spanish monarchy, discovered the tomato earlier in 1493.

The earliest discussion of the tomato in European literature appeared in an herbal written in 1544 by Pietro Andrea Mattioli, an Italian physician and botanist, who named it pomi d’oro, golden apple.

The tomato is a herbaceous plant of the nightshade family, as are its close cousins tobacco, potatoes, aubergine, chilli peppers and the poisonous belladonna.

More and more varieties in the shops, heirloom and colourful in all sizes, we are so fortunate to have ALL that choice!

We can now buy ‘tomatoes on the vine’ which are ripened or harvested with the fruits still connected to a piece of vine.

These tend to have more flavour than artificially ripened tomatoes.

Botanically, a tomato is the ovary, together with its seeds, of a flowering plant: therefore it is a fruit or, more precisely, a berry... NOT a vegetable.

Tomatoes are notoriously difficult to light well, with reflectors all sorts...

A lovely challenge!

With love to you and thank you for ALL your faves and comments, M, (* _ *)

This is again a shot that comes from the "conceptual challenge" me and a friend of mine decided to give each other. I think the title speaks for itself if you already know the book "Le rouge et le noir" by Stendhal.

The picture was taken with Sony Xperia Z1 smartphone.

Michael Rawling’s Elemental Series: Miami uses Film and Found Materials at the pictures’ location to create a new types of land- & cityscapes.

Part of Michael Rawling’s Elemental Series: Water, organic and mineral samples are collected at the site of the picture - from the actual place depicted within the photograph - and bonded with the film. The depicted scene you see here is then created by exposing light on to the film and also by the physical elements of the landscape so the resulting image created is much more deeply representative of the scene itself.

The word was in a musical dictionary Eric Satie had at home, and the given definition was “An event at a greek festival wherein maidens danced in the nude.”

Most of my images are made under the influence… of music!

SILK WHITE CYCLAMENS

This is only a small plant, but on the windowsill in my kitchen, it seems to thrive in the Northern light, these beauties here seem to fight for the light.

Cyclamen are native to the Mediterranean region from Spain east to Iran, and also in northeast Africa South to Somalia.

The name Cyclamen is presumed to come from Greek 'kyclos', a circle referring to the round tubers, or leaves.

Lovely inverted flowers rise out of fantastically patterned rounded or heart-shaped leaves.

Some of the patterns, particularly the silver leaved varieties are exquisite and can truly be described as a wonder of nature.

From the family Primulaceae, they come in beautiful colours from white, pink, purple, red and combinations of these.

Cyclamen like the cool; the smaller the leaves, the cooler they can stand it.

The tubers are regarded as the favourite food for pigs in the South of France, Sicily and Italy, hence a rather uncommon common name Sowbread.

Cyclamen are poisonous; they have been used medicinally as a powerful purgative, but their toxicity makes this risky.

Have a glorious day and thank you, M, (*_*)

Embracing the extraordinary.

I emerged into a world of boundless possibilities, adorned with a pair of ethereal wings that glistened with newfound brilliance. These magnificent appendages, unlike any before, bore the promise of flight, freedom, and a connection to the heavens themselves. With every graceful beat, I ascended to the skies, feeling the wind kiss my feathers as I soared above the earthly confines. These wings, an embodiment of rebirth and transformation, carried me to places I had only dreamt of, reminding me that with each fresh beginning, we can redefine our existence and explore uncharted horizons, embracing the extraordinary.

Some flowers go together so very well, like these pink Tulips with the blue Hyacinths.

Perfect.

All from the shops!

They embaume our room with their sweetness.

Finding Balance

Since you passed away, finding balance in my life has been an ongoing struggle. Your absence created a void that’s hard to fill, and in trying to adjust, I sometimes feel like I’m walking a tightrope, trying to steady myself but swaying with every step.

My days are a mix of trying to move forward while holding onto the past. There’s this constant pull between wanting to keep your memory close and needing to live in the present. Some days, the grief feels overwhelming, like it’s tipping the scales, and everything else in my life falls out of balance.

I’m learning that finding balance doesn’t mean erasing the pain or pretending everything is okay. It’s about accepting that grief is now a part of my life, something I carry with me as I move forward. It’s about giving myself permission to feel whatever I’m feeling without judgment, whether it’s sadness, anger, or even moments of joy.

Balancing my life without you means redefining what stability looks like. It’s about taking small steps to create a new normal, where I honor your memory but also make space for new experiences, new joys. Some days, the balance feels fragile, but I’m realizing that it’s okay if it isn’t perfect. What matters is that I keep trying, finding my footing one day at a time.

Limited Edition series of 5 in

Using 9 month film development process.

.

.

** Site of Photograph **

Chess Valley, near Sarratt, Hertfordshire, Southern England, UK.

.

** Found Materials at Location **

Chess River water, water reed shoots and fall off, reeds, algae, chalk micro-pebbles.

.

.

.

How do I do this?

Minute amounts of water, windfall samples - organic and mineral - are collected from the very landscape depicted within each picture - and chemically bonded with the film over 12 months.

.

The result:

A nature-disrupted film process that creates unedited images that are inbetween a classic photograph and a totally abstract image, depicting the interaction between fundamental chemical elements present at each place & time, representing a more visceral and literal experience of being present in landscapes in a constant state of natural or unnatural flux.

HEY! modern art & pop culture 4 exhibition in Paris, France, @hallesaintpierre Museum.

A Bridge I Photoshopped.

#AB_FAV_MEMORIES_🎠

I could stand there for hours and admire these works of Art.

It stimulates my imagination! FUERTEVENTURA.

On our first free afternoon, we decided to explore the local harbour of Morro Jable.

The ferry to Lanzarote and the other islands, leaves from it, for the rest it moors a few yachts, some catamarans, a place for jet skis, but best of all the local colourful fishing boats, we were too late to catch them with the people, it was siesta time!

Wandering around, I discovered at the bottom of the rocks the tiniest 'beach', only a sandy corner.

Climbing and jumping down, I saw all the patterns the small lapping sea waves had painted in the sand.

I felt like I had struck gold, this was photography paradise.

Needless to say I have MANY???

But I find this a SUPER that will go on the wall, it made me think of charcoal drawings on coarse grainy paper.

I fact Fuerteventura is a volcanic island, and THAT is what ‘paints’ the sand.

Please let me know what you think? Hope you like it?

Have a great day and thanks for your visit, M, (*_*)

Cyclamen are native to the Mediterranean region from Spain east to Iran, and also in northeast Africa south to Somalia.

The cyclamen commonly sold by florists is Cyclamen Persicum, which is frost-tender.

Selected cyclamen cultivars can have white, bright pink, red or purple flowers.

While flowering, florists' cyclamens should be kept below 20 °C (68 °F), with the night time temperatures preferably between 6.5 °C to 15 °C (44 °F to 59 °F).

Temperatures above 20 °C (68 °F) may induce the plant to go dormant.

I tried a ‘different’ composition.

Have a good day and thanks for your visit, so very much appreciated, Magda, (*_*)
