The title of a French book by Françoise Sagan.

The title is derived from a poem by Paul Éluard, "À peine défigurée", which begins with the lines "Adieu tristesse/Bonjour tristesse..."

Each time I think... that's it, there's only so much you can do with flowers... and yet again and again, I'll see something new.

Being creative is not a choice... it is an urge in me.

From my garden.

I never promised you a Rose garden, lol.

How it came about... I developed many a garden in my life, always multi coloured but also always without Roses, because I thought that they were delicate to grow and maintain.

Now Paul loves Roses, so, I stared tentatively introducing them into our oasis.

I was so wrong, they are going so well and bring so much joy.

BTW, if they suffer from greenfly: plant a garlic bulb near the root of your Rose.

It will often also tell you when you can expect rain, sniff in the air! LOL

It is said that: Art is Expression of the imagination............

Hippeastrum, these plants are popularly but erroneously known as Amaryllis and are cultivars of bulbous plants in the family Amaryllidacea.

The botanic name Amaryllis is taken from a shepherdess in Virgil's pastoral "Eclogues"(An eclogue is a poem in a classical style on a pastoral subject. Poems in the genre are sometimes also called bucolics. Virgilius wrote the Bucolica, consisting of 10 Eclogues).

As a flower symbol it has come to mean "Dramatic", which seems most fitting here!

Hippeastrum is a popular bulb flower for indoor growing, it is Greek for "horseman's star" (also known today as "knight's star").

I love the curves and lines in this.

Slightly protected from the storm at sea, the sand was stopped by the bollards dividing the two areas, one for walkers and cyclists, the other for cars.

Waiting for them in the garden, the buds are there but they are holding in for warmer and better weather.

They look so luxuriously pink.

Start out as a hot-pink bud, opening to this more salmon pink and end big and blousy with creamy-white petals.

you will encounter the individualist everywhere! One who does not ‘follow’, is innovative and creative, not once but continuously?

I often get the comment: ‘simple’ on my images, LOL. Yes that makes me smile, I remember Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly and so many more, … it looked so simple and easy what they did, you know, like you could get up and dance in the same way… NOT! I experience the same with my work… it gets copied and tried, never seem to achieve that same depth, the tonalities, the richness and the emotion. I get asked repeatedly for workshops and tutorials. For which I have no time I’m happy to say, so much work, euhh, rephrase that, pleasure and fun?

What you see in my images is the years of experimenting, the years of studying, the years of experience!

Sakura is the Japanese name for cherry trees, and their blossoms.

Whereas in China the cherry blossom symbolises feminine beauty, the feminine principle, or love in the language of herbs, in Japan the cherry blossoms are believed to exemplify the transient nature of life, because of their short blooming times.

Cherry blossoms also symbolise clouds due to their nature of blooming en masse, besides being an enduring metaphor for the ephemeral nature of life.

This Hot Pink Star tulip had a beautiful and interesting aberration, it made it very unique, also it released great emotion in me... it TOLD me so much... it cried out, in a silent way... look at me, I may be 'different', have an 'extra' petal, not the same as the others, and doesn't it make me look special?

A STAR IS BORN, WHITE LILY... by magda indigo

yes I am a big fan of white lilies...

Lilium longiflorum.

This plant is native to Japan and the Ryūkyū Islands. It is a stem rooting lily, growing up to 1 m high and bears a number of trumpet shaped, white, very fragrant, and outward facing flowers.

We have a family of friends that we visit every year, they breed horses, wonderful people.

They have now made it a tradition that each year, on the day of our return back home, the end of our visit/holidays, they present me with a bunch of freshly-cut Lilies (one of the sons helps on a farm where they grow them for the bulbs!).

It is a bouquet that I can barely hold my arms around, I had to buy a BIG vase and even now, they are split into two displays. Our house is filled whit the fragrance.

What wonderful friends we have all over!

the Fuchsias are in bloom, the dainty little dancers...

They are doing soooo well.

Fuchsia from my garden. So delicate and pretty and in one of my favourite colour-combinations!

Fuchsia is a genus of flowering plants that consists mostly of shrubs or small trees.

The first, Fuchsia triphylla, was discovered on the Caribbean island of Hispaniola (present day Dominican Republic and Haiti) in 1703 by the French Minim monk and botanist, Charles Plumier.

He named the new genus after the renowned German botanist Leonhart Fuchs.

This is one of the varieties, plump, with a red tutu and white nickers? LOL
