André Léon Marie Nicolas Rieu (Maastricht, 1º ottobre 1949) è un grande direttore d'orchestra e violinista olandese che con la splendida orchestra si esibisce in tutte le parti del mondo.E' anche un fine compositore ed un grande show man che con la sua arte ed il suo stile avvicina le grandi masse alla musica classica.
André Léon Marie Nicolas Rieu (born 1 October 1949) is a Dutch violinist, conductor, and composer best known for creating the waltz-playing Johann Strauss Orchestra.He began studying violin at the age of five. His father, of the same name, was conductor of the Maastricht Symphony Orchestra. From a very young age he developed a fascination with orchestra. He studied violin at the Conservatoire Royal in Liège and at the Conservatorium Maastricht, (1968–1973). His teachers included Jo Juda and Herman Krebbers. From 1974 to 1977, he attended the Music Academy in Brussels, studying with André Gertler, finally receiving his degree "Premier Prix" from the Brussels Royal Conservatory.

The Portland State Chamber Choir was founded in 1976. Since that time the choir has performed at many prestigious venues, touring internationally and singing in the United States by invitation at National Conventions for the Music Educators National Conference, the American Choral Directors Association, and The Society of International Music Educators. The Chamber Choir has been the sole American representative at International Choral Festivals in Tallinn, Estonia; Keffalonia, Greece; Mallorca, Spain; and, Prague, Czech Republic. In 1999 and again in 2005, the Chamber Choir won four medals at international choral competitions in Martkoberdorf, Germany. This year the Chamber Choir became the first American Choir since 2007 to be selected to compete in the International Grand Prix for choirs in St. Petersburg, Russia.
The Chamber Choir has recorded on the Albany Label. In November 2003, the choir recorded the choral music of Margaret Garwood on the Hildegard Label; and in 2006 the Chamber Choir released the first English Language recordings of the choral music of Veljo Tormis, at the request of Tormis himself. Their new CD, “A Drop in the Ocean” was just released will be reviewed and featured in upcoming issues of Fanfare and Stereophile. This past February, the Chamber Choir collaborated with Portland-born composer Morten Lauridsen, who described their singing as “an absolutely top-notch superb display of choral artistry.”
Il Portland State Chamber Choir è stato fondato nel 1976. Fin dall’inizio il coro si è esibito in molti luoghi prestigiosi, ha fatto diversi tour internazionali ed ha cantato, su invito, alla conferenza nazionale sull’educazione musicale, per l’associazione nazionale dei direttori di coro e per la società internazionale degli educatori musicali. Il coro da camera è stato l’unico rappresentante americano ai festival musicali di Tallinn (Estonia), Cefalonia (Grecia), Maiorca (Spagna) e Praga (Repubblica Ceca). Nel 1999 e successivamente nel 2005 il coro ha vinto quattro medaglie al concorso corale internazionale di Marktoberdorf, in Germania. Nel 2012 il coro è stato il primo coro americano dal 2007 ad essere selezionato per partecipare al Gran Prix internazionale dei cori di S. Pietroburgo (Russia). Il coro ha registrato molti Cd con l’etichetta Albany. Tra questi ricordiamo la registrazione effettuata nel 2006 con i brani (in lingua inglese) del compositore Veljo Tormis, su stessa richiesta del musicista. L’anno scorso il coro ha anche collaborato con il compositore (nato a Portland) Morten Lauridsen che ha definito il loro modo di cantare come “una superba dimostrazione dell’arte corale”. Il coro è attualmente diretto da Ethan Sperry.

Dee Dee Bridgewater gehört seit vielen Jahren zu den meistbewunderten Sängerinnen, weltweit. Im Laufe ihrer beispiellosen Karriere stand sie als umjubelte Protagonistin auf den bedeutendsten Bühnen der ganzen Welt, in diversen Formationen und an der Seite von Topstars wie Thad Jones, Mel Lewis, Dexter Gordon, Dizzy Gillespie, Max Roach, Sonny Rollins, Ray Charles. Der vielseitige Trompeter ist auch Komponist und Arrangeur und gehört zu den emblematischsten und bedeutendsten Musikern, die sich im neu erstandenen New Orleans nach Katrina einen Namen gemacht haben. Zehn Jahre sind seit der Hurrikan-Tragödie vergangen, in der Irvin seinen Vater verlor. Mayfield wurde schon 2012 am Festival in Ascona als Protagonist bewundert, zusammen mit einigen Musikern aus seinem Orchester.

Il Teatro Bellini o Regio Teatro Carolino è un teatro di Palermo edificato nel 1726.Originariamente il teatro, inaugurato nel 1742, fu concepito e realizzato interamente in legno e poteva ospitare 500 spettatori e fu considerato fino alla metà dell'Ottocento il più importante teatro della città. Just Another Band, gruppo emblematico delle Midnight Session asconesi guidato dal carismatico cantante e bassista newyorkese Roy Bennett, salirà sul palco insieme a Karima, la talentuosa cantante italo algerina uscita alcuni anni fa dal programma “Amici” di Canale 5. Karima, senza ombra di dubbio l’interprete femminile più interessante e brava uscita dai talent italiani, è dotata di carisma da vendere e di una padronanza della scena, acquisita in anni di dura gavetta, che non ha nulla da invidiare alle star americane. Nonostante la giovane età (classe 1985), ha già aperto i concerti italiani di Anastacia, Simply Red e Whitney Houston, è stata in gara a Sanremo nel 2009 e protagonista quest’anno del popolare show televisivo “I migliori anni”. L’artista ha anche collaborato con il pianista e compositore statunitense Burt Bacharach, che ha prodotto alcuni brani dei suoi precedenti lavori discografici e scritto per lei “Just Walk Away”, unica cantante italiana ad avere avuto questo privilegio. Dopo l’emozionante concerto in omaggio al maestro Bacharach lo scorso febbraio al Blue Note di Milano, la cantante sta sempre più ampliando l’orizzonte delle sue collaborazioni artistiche, pronta a far esplodere il suo straordinario potenziale di cantante “da sempre innamorata del jazz e della black music”.
Significativa in questo senso la sua presenza ad Ascona al fianco di un gruppo come i J.A.B., formazione che nelle sue passate apparizioni è stata una delle più amate dal pubblico di Ascona. La band rivisita tutta la musica nera, dal funk al soul passando per l’R&B. La capacità di trasformare le piazze di Ascona in piste da ballo a cielo aperto fanno dei J.A.B. un vero e proprio “must” per gli amanti della black music degli anni ’70 e non solo.
A special and inedited collaboration between young and renowned talents will light up and bring great intensity to the evening performances in Ascona. Just Another Band - emblematic band part of the Ascona Midnight Sessions with a special leader: the charismatic singer and bass player Roy Bennett - will be on stage with Karima, the talented Italo-Algerian singer, which got known to the public thanks to the Italian talent show “Amici” (Canale 5). Karima is definitely the most interesting female pop jazz artist of the Italian talent scouting scene, with her intense charisma and confident stage presence - gained after years of hard work - and nothing to envy the American stars for. Although very young (born in 1985) she already performed as opening act for artists such as Anastasia, Simply Red and Whitney Houston. She also took part to the Sanremo 2009 competition and was one of the stars of this year’s well known television show “I migliori anni” (RAI Uno). Furthermore, she collaborated with the US pianist and composer Burt Bacharach, which produced some of the tracks off her previous record and composed especially for her “Just Walk Away”; up to date the only Italian singer which has received this privilege. After the very moving concerts held in honour of maestro Bacharach last February at the Blue Note in Milan, the singer has continued to widen her horizon of artistic collaborations, always ready to let out her extraordinary potential as a singer which has “always been in love with jazz and black music”. This the connection and relevance of her presence on stage with J.A.B., band which during the past JazzAscona editions has been widely and loudly appreciated by the public, will present us with a repertoire that revisits all of the black music, from funk to soul, going through R&B. The capacity of transforming the streets of Ascona in an open air dance hall confer JAB as a “must” for all music lovers and specially the ‘70s black music appreciators.

Mark Thomas Tremonti è un chitarrista statunitense degli Alter Bridge e dei Creed. Generalmente Mark è il compositore delle musiche dei suoi gruppi.
La sua band solista originariamente era costituita da Eric Friedman e Garrett Whitlock a fianco del bassista di Alter Bridge e Creed Brian Marshall. La band ha eseguito il suo primo concerto solista a Orlando, in Florida, il 17 luglio 2012.

L’associazione corale “Slavyanska Beseda” è stata fondata nel 2000 dal direttore Elitza Hristova, dal compositore Georgi Popov e dal presidente della Casa della Cultura “Slavyanska Beseda” Joreto Bahmetjev. Il coro è composto da 50 membri di età variabile, dai 5 ai 40 anni, che si esibiscono in diverse formazioni. I coristi, bambini, donne e uomini, hanno ricevuto una formazione professionale basata su una sola modalità di produzione del suono, affine alla specificità interpretativa della musica ortodossa e allo stile architettonico delle chiese cristiane. Il repertorio del coro consta di canti tipici della tradizione monodica e polifonica della musica ortodossa. La maggior parte di questi canti è stata scritta, appositamente per il coro, dal compositore Georgi PopovL’associazione corale ha partecipato a molte festività liturgiche, a festival in Russia, Francia, Serbia, Macedonia, a concerti dedicati alle più grandi festività cristiane e nazionali, e inoltre organizza un proprio concerto di Natale. Il coro si è esibito nelle principali chiese di Sofia, in concerti e alla tv e alla radio nazionale bulgara. Ha inoltre realizzato due cd – nel 2003 e nel 2006. Nel novembre 2006, il coro ha partecipato a un tour, che ha riscosso grande successo, in Serbia; si è inoltre esibito al festival internazionale di musica ortodossa “Days of Spirituality” e nell’ottobre 2007 a Ohrid, in Macedonia. Nell’ottobre 2008, il coro Slavyanska Beseda ha riscosso un gradito successo anche in Francia, dove si è esibito nel nord della Normandia al festival “Les Nuits Blanches”, e in seguito a Parigi. Dal 2004, l’associazione corale Slavyanska Beseda è uno degli organizzatori del festival internazionale di musica ortodossa “Theotokos – It is Truly Meet” che si svolge ogni anno sul mar Nero nella città di Pomorie, Bulgaria. ELITZA HRISTOVA nasce a Bucarest, Romania. Laureatasi all’Accademia di Musica di Plovdiv nel 1991 e in teologia al dipartimento teologico dell’Università di Sofia nel 2008, attualmente sta completando gli studi filosofici sul bizantino e i canti delle chiese dell’est nello stesso dipartimento. Ha lavorato come maestro e accompagnatore di molti cori, tra questi il Coro dei bambini della radio nazionale bulgara e il coro filarmonico nazionale bulgaro “Svetoslav Obretenov”. Dal 1991 al 2001, ha lavorato come pianista per concerti, registrazioni e come insegnante sia in Bulgaria sia all’estero. Dal 2000, è la cofondatrice e direttore dell’associazione corale “Slavyanska Beseda”.
Choral Society “SLAVYANSKA BESEDA” was revived in 2000 by the conductor Elitza Hristova, the composer Georgi Popov and the Chairman of the Cultural House "Slavyanska Beseda" Joreto Bahmetjev. The choir consists of 50 singers of different age ranging from 5 to 40 years, who give concerts in different formations. The singers in the choir are children, women and men that have been professionally trained in a unique manner of sound production related to the specificity of interpreting Orthodox music and the architectural design of Christian churches. The repertoire of the choir is comprised mostly of chants representing the monadic and polyphonic tradition in Orthodox music. The majority of the chants have been written especially for the choir by the composer Georgi Popov. The choir also performs classical works of the Orthodox composers, Bulgarian folklore music and individual authors’ music. The choral society has performed during festive liturgies, at festivals in Russia, France, Serbia, Macedonia, in concerts dedicated to the greatest Christian and national holidays, and also it has held its own Christmas concerts. It has released two CDs – in 2003 and 2006. In November 2006, the choir was on a very successful tour to Serbia where it performed in the International Festival for Orthodox Music “Days of Spirituality” and in October 2007 to Ohrid, Macedonia. In October 2008, Slavyanska Beseda Choir had a very successful tour to France where it gave several concerts in Northern Normandy at the festival “Les Nuits Blanches”, and afterwards, in Paris. In July and August 2009, Slavyanska Beseda Choir was involved in international projects with Rachmaninoff Choir from Maine, USA, and the Choir at the Nikolo-Perervinski Monastery in Moscow. Since 2004, Choral Society Slavyanska Beseda has been the initiator and one of the co-organizers of the International Festival for Orthodox Music “Theotokos – It is Truly Meet” that takes place annually in the Black-sea town of Pomorie, Bulgaria. ELITZA HRISTOVA was born on 09.09.1969, in Bucharest, Romania. She graduated from the Musical Academy in Plovdiv in 1991 and theology at the Theological Department of Sofia University in 2008. She is now completing her PhD degree in Byzantine and eastern church chant at the same department. She has worked as choirmaster and accompanist in a number of choirs, among them the Bulgarian National Radio Children’s Choir and the Bulgarian National Philharmonic Choir “Svetoslav Obretenov”. In the period of 1991 – 2001, as a pianist, she was actively engaged in concerts, recordings, and teaching both in Bulgaria and abroad. Since 2000, she has been a co-founder and conductor of Choral Society “SLAVYANSKA BESEDA”.

Ein unverzichtbarer Moment am 31. JazzAscona Festival ist das Konzert der berühmten Sängerin Dee Dee Bridgewater und ihrer super Big Band aus New Orleans, welches am Montag, 29. Juni über die Bühne geht.
Dee Dee Bridgewater gehört seit vielen Jahren zu den meistbewunderten Sängerinnen, weltweit. Im Laufe ihrer beispiellosen Karriere stand sie als umjubelte Protagonistin auf den bedeutendsten Bühnen der ganzen Welt, in diversen Formationen und an der Seite von Topstars wie Thad Jones, Mel Lewis, Dexter Gordon, Dizzy Gillespie, Max Roach, Sonny Rollins, Ray Charles. Der vielseitige Trompeter ist auch Komponist und Arrangeur und gehört zu den emblematischsten und bedeutendsten Musikern, die sich im neu erstandenen New Orleans nach Katrina einen Namen gemacht haben. Zehn Jahre sind seit der Hurrikan-Tragödie vergangen, in der Irvin seinen Vater verlor. Mayfield wurde schon 2012 am Festival in Ascona als Protagonist bewundert, zusammen mit einigen Musikern aus seinem Orchester.

Fondato nel 1987, De La Salle University Chorale è un gruppo costituito da giovani studenti amanti della musica. Nel 1995 in Finlandia, il gruppo ha vinto il Grand Prix del “Tampere International Choir Festival”, primeggiando tra 53 cori provenienti da tutto il mondo e vincendo i premi più importanti del festival. Dal 29 maggio al 2 agosto 1999, la corale ha realizzato un tour in 8 Paesi europei, ottenendo lodi e apprezzamenti per le sue esibizioni. Nel 2004 ha intrapreso un altro tour, di quattro mesi e mezzo, tra Stati Uniti ed Europa, in qualità di ambasciatori della bontà della musica e della cultura con esibizioni negli States e in vari Stati europei. Il gruppo ha inoltre ricevuto il Diploma Folklorico del famoso “21° Ble Bartok International Choral Competition” in Ungheria. Negli ultimi anni, oltre a concerti ed esibizioni, il gruppo è stato impegnato in varie attività a livello locale. Una delle più recenti è stata l’organizzazione del “Labor of Love”, nel febbraio 2009. Lo scopo che la DLUC si prefigge è il raggiungimento dell’eccellenza nella musica corale.
Curriculum del direttore. Il professor Rodolfo F. Delarmente è compositore, arrangiatore e direttore di diversi gruppi corali di Manila. Nel 1982, l’ultimo presidente Ferdinand Marcos lo ha premiato come miglior direttore corale dell’anno. Il professor Delarmente, considerato “il re dei concorsi”, ha diretto il De La Salle Univesrity Chorale in una serie di vittorie ottenute tra il 1995 e il 1999, aggiudicandosi il primo premio in concorsi e festival di diversi Stati europei. Nell’agosto 2000, è stato invitato a dirigere “Asia Youth Choir”. Il professore Delarmente tieni inoltre workshop per cori e voci. Le sue credenziali dimostrano il grande desiderio di condividere il suo talento e di promuovere una consapevolezza musicale. The De La Salle University Chorale, group composed of young music-loving students, was founded in 1987. In Finland, the group won the Grand Prix in the 1995 Tampere International Choir Festival, besting 53 other choirs from all over the world with a rating of Three Gold Stamps, the highest honours given in the festival. From May 29 to August 2, 1999, the Chorale traveled through 8 European countries, gaining praise and appreciation from their audiences in all their performances. The chorale embarked on a successful four and half-month US and European in 2004, as they served as Ambassadors of Goodwill through Music and Culture in their performances in various States, as well as in various European countries. Curriculum Of the Director. Professor Rodolfo F. Delarmente is a composer, arranger and a musical director of several choral groups in Metro Manila. In 1982, the late President Ferdinand Marcos awarded him as the most outstanding choral conductor of the year. Professor Rodolfo Delarmente, now regarded as the “competition king” led the De La Salle University Chorale on a winning streak on its 1995 and 1999 European Concert Tours by sweeping the Grand Prizes in the competitions and festivals in many European countries. In August 2000, he was invited to lead the Asia Youth Choir. Prtofessor Delarmente also conducts voice and choral workshops. His credentials prove his great desire to share his talent and promote musical awareness to his peers. Recognized by his peers as one of the luminaries of the country, he continues to offer his expertise to improve choral music.

Dee Dee Bridgewater gehört seit vielen Jahren zu den meistbewunderten Sängerinnen, weltweit. Im Laufe ihrer beispiellosen Karriere stand sie als umjubelte Protagonistin auf den bedeutendsten Bühnen der ganzen Welt, in diversen Formationen und an der Seite von Topstars wie Thad Jones, Mel Lewis, Dexter Gordon, Dizzy Gillespie, Max Roach, Sonny Rollins, Ray Charles. Zehn Jahre sind seit der Hurrikan-Tragödie vergangen, in der Irvin seinen Vater verlor. Mayfield wurde schon 2012 am Festival in Ascona als Protagonist bewundert, zusammen mit einigen Musikern aus seinem Orchester.

Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina (3 February 1525 or 2 February 1526 – 2 February 1594) was an Italian Renaissance composer of sacred music and the best-known 16th-century representative of the Roman School of musical composition.He had a lasting influence on the development of church music, and his work has often been seen as the culmination of Renaissance polyphony.Palestrina was born in the town of Palestrina, which is near Rome, then part of the Papal States. Documents suggest that he first visited Rome in 1537, when he is listed as a chorister at the Sta Maria Maggiore basilica. He studied with Robin Mallapert and Firmin Lebel. He spent most of his career in the city.Palestrina came of age as a musician under the influence of the northern European style of polyphony, which owed its dominance in Italy primarily to two influential Franco-Flemish composers, Guillaume Dufay and Josquin des Prez, who had spent significant portions of their careers there. Italy itself had yet to produce anyone of comparable fame or skill in polyphony.From 1544 to 1551, Palestrina was organist of the principal church (St. Agapito) of his native city, and in 1551 he became maestro di cappella at the Cappella Giulia, the papal choir at St Peter's. His first published compositions, a book of Masses, had made so favorable an impression with Pope Julius III (previously the Bishop of Palestrina) that he appointed Palestrina musical director of the Julian Chapel. This was the first book of Masses by a native composer: in the Italian states of his day, most composers of sacred music were from the Low Countries, France, Portugal, or Spain. In fact the book was modeled on one by Cristóbal de Morales: the woodcut in the front is almost an exact copy of the one from the book by the Spanish composer.During the next decade, Palestrina held positions similar to his Julian Chapel appointment at other chapels and churches in Rome, notably St John Lateran, (1555–1560 – a post previously held by Lassus) and Sta Maria Maggiore (1561–1566). In 1571 he returned to the Julian Chapel and remained at St Peter's for the rest of his life. The decade of the 1570s was difficult for him personally: he lost his brother, two of his sons, and his wife in three separate outbreaks of the plague (1572, 1575, and 1580, respectively). He seems to have considered becoming a priest at this time, but instead he remarried, this time to a wealthy widow. This finally gave him financial independence (he was not well paid as choirmaster) and he was able to compose prolifically until his death.He died in Rome of pleurisy in 1594. In keeping with the custom of that time, Palestrina was buried on the same day he died, in a plain coffin with a lead plate on which was inscribed Libera me Domine. Dee Dee Bridgewater gehört seit vielen Jahren zu den meistbewunderten Sängerinnen, weltweit. Im Laufe ihrer beispiellosen Karriere stand sie als umjubelte Protagonistin auf den bedeutendsten Bühnen der ganzen Welt, in diversen Formationen und an der Seite von Topstars wie Thad Jones, Mel Lewis, Dexter Gordon, Dizzy Gillespie, Max Roach, Sonny Rollins, Ray Charles. Il coro ITS dell’Istituto di Tecnologia è stato fondato nel 1975 su iniziativa di molti studenti che volevano creare un punto di incontro per che voleva ritrovarsi nel segno della musica e delle attività corali. Il coro attualmente è formato sia da studenti che da laureati che settimanalmente si danno appuntamento per provare e fare pratica. Il gruppo, però, oltre a formare musicalmente i suoi componenti, è in grado di produrre un solido rapporto interpersonale tra i cantori. Il coro ITS è diretto da Budi Susanto Yohanes. Negli ultimi anni il coro ha partecipato a numerosi concerti e concorsi, non solo in Indonesia:
1.Concorso internazionale di Busan (Corea) nel 2010 - 1° premio come coro misto e nella categoria di canto popolare;
2.Concorso internazionale di Rimini (Italia) nel 2011 - 1° posto per le esibizioni di canto popolare e 3° posto come coro misto;
3.Concorso internazionale di Cantonigros (Spagna) nel 2013 - 3° posto nella categoria di canto popolare; Concorso internazionale di polifonia a Torrevieja (Spagna) nel 2013 – 3° posto nella categoria polifonica; Brawijaya Festival (Indonesia) nel 2014 – 3° posto nella categoria a voci miste e riconoscimento come coro favorito.
Budi Susanto Yohanes, direttore e compositore indonesiano, è stato nominato “miglior direttore” al concorso di Rimini nel 2011, un recente premio che si aggiunge alla ricca lista di riconoscimenti ottenuti nel corso della sua carriera. Ha debuttato come direttore nel 1999 con il Gracioso Sonora Choir, da lui fondato. Da quel momento Budi ha continuato con successo la sua carriera di direttore e direttore artistico di molte performance, ottenendo premi prestigiosi in Germania, Spagna, Italia, Corea ed Indonesia. All’attività di direzione Budi affianca quella di composizione e produce brani commissionati dall’Associazione per la musica in suole internazionali, oltre che da molti cori dell’Indonesia. Le sue composizioni ed i suoi arrangiamenti sono stati pubblicati da Earthsongs USA, Carus-Verlag Germania, Singapore Choral Research Center e Gracioso Sonora Choir. Gai’ Bintang e Janger sono esempi delle sue composizioni più famose che fondono i diversi elementi della musica tradizionale indonesiana. Essendo un musicista versatile, Budi ha potuto ottenere successi su più fronti: come direttore artistico, come vocal coach e come cantante. Budi Susanto Yohanes è nato nel 1979 e si è avvicinato alla musica con lo studio del pianoforte, ma ha proseguito la sua esperienza da autodidatta. Attualmente vive a Seul, dove studia all’Università Nazionale per ottenere il diploma in direzione corale.
ITS (Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology) Student Choir, which officially named PSM ITS (Paduan Suara Mahasiswa ITS), was founded on 1975, initiated by Drs. Kresnayana Yahya and several other ITS scholars who wanted a unit accommodating students whom enjoyed singing and choral activities. ITS Student Choir formed as student unit residing under LMB (Lembaga Minat Bakat / Talent and Interest Agency) of ITS. ITS Student Choir members consist of college students and alumni of ITS. As for routine activities, we hold weekly rehearsals to improve vocal abilities of our members including alumni, active members, and freshmen. Beside improving musical ability, PSM ITS also develops management and organizing ability to produce good personality within each member. Within the last few years, PSM ITS has proved its existence to its own environment and to the world of choir. ITS Student Choir organization is now led by Aranda Rizki Soedjono as the president and Dr. –Ing. Ir. Bambang Soemardiono as the advisor, and also conducted and trained by Budi Susanto Yohanes. Indonesian conductor and composer Budi Susanto Yohanes has been declared The Best Conductor in 2011 Rimini International Choral Competition, Italy – a recent addition to his achievements in conducting career with ITS Student Choir. He debuted as the conductor of Gracioso Sonora Choir, a choir he founded in 1999. Since then Budi has been successfully conducting and art-directing numerous performances, and acquired prestigious awards from Germany, Spain, Italy, South Korea, and home-country Indonesia. Along with conducting, Budi has chosen composition as his niche. He carries out commissioned works from The Association for Music in International Schools, as well as many choirs from Indonesia. His compositions and arrangements have been published by Earthsongs USA, Carus-Verlag Germany, Singapore Choral Research Center, and Gracioso Sonora Choir. Gai’ Bintang and Janger are examples of his best-known compositions, which incorporate traditional Indonesian music elements. A versatile musician, Budi has various choral experiences ranging from being a vocal instructor, art-director, and a singer himself. he also participated as a member of Asian Youth Choir in Japan, Indonesia, and Philippines from 2004 through 2010. His works and achievements in choral fields have qualified himself as adjudicator and clinician in festivals and competitions. In March 2007, he was invited by Singapore Choral Research Center as a choral clinician.
Budi was born in 1979. Having studied piano and he is primarily a self-taught musician with dedication and strong-willed effort. Now, as he earned scholarship from Korea National University of Arts, Budi currently lives in Seoul, Korea, to pursue his bachelor degree in choir conducting.

A special and inedited collaboration between young and renowned talents will light up and bring great intensity to the evening performances in Ascona. Just Another Band - emblematic band part of the Ascona Midnight Sessions with a special leader: the charismatic singer and bass player Roy Bennett - will be on stage with Karima, the talented Italo-Algerian singer, which got known to the public thanks to the Italian talent show âAmiciâ (Canale 5). Karima is definitely the most interesting female pop jazz artist of the Italian talent scouting scene, with her intense charisma and confident stage presence - gained after years of hard work - and nothing to envy the American stars for. Although very young (born in 1985) she already performed as opening act for artists such as Anastasia, Simply Red and Whitney Houston. She also took part to the Sanremo 2009 competition and was one of the stars of this yearâs well known television show âI migliori anniâ (RAI Uno). Karima, senza ombra di dubbio lâinterprete femminile più interessante e brava uscita dai talent italiani, è dotata di carisma da vendere e di una padronanza della scena, acquisita in anni di dura gavetta, che non ha nulla da invidiare alle star americane. Nonostante la giovane età (classe 1985), ha già aperto i concerti italiani di Anastacia, Simply Red e Whitney Houston, è stata in gara a Sanremo nel 2009 e protagonista questâanno del popolare show televisivo âI migliori anniâ. Lâartista ha anche collaborato con il pianista e compositore statunitense Burt Bacharach, che ha prodotto alcuni brani dei suoi precedenti lavori discografici e scritto per lei âJust Walk Awayâ, unica cantante italiana ad avere avuto questo privilegio. Dopo lâemozionante concerto in omaggio al maestro Bacharach lo scorso febbraio al Blue Note di Milano, la cantante sta sempre più ampliando lâorizzonte delle sue collaborazioni artistiche, pronta a far esplodere il suo straordinario potenziale di cantante âda sempre innamorata del jazz e della black musicâ.

A special and inedited collaboration between young and renowned talents will light up and bring great intensity to the evening performances in Ascona. Just Another Band - emblematic band part of the Ascona Midnight Sessions with a special leader: the charismatic singer and bass player Roy Bennett - will be on stage with Karima, the talented Italo-Algerian singer, which got known to the public thanks to the Italian talent show âAmiciâ (Canale 5). Karima is definitely the most interesting female pop jazz artist of the Italian talent scouting scene, with her intense charisma and confident stage presence - gained after years of hard work - and nothing to envy the American stars for. Although very young (born in 1985) she already performed as opening act for artists such as Anastasia, Simply Red and Whitney Houston. She also took part to the Sanremo 2009 competition and was one of the stars of this yearâs well known television show âI migliori anniâ (RAI Uno). Furthermore, she collaborated with the US pianist and composer Burt Bacharach, which produced some of the tracks off her previous record and composed especially for her âJust Walk Awayâ; up to date the only Italian singer which has received this privilege. After the very moving concerts held in honour of maestro Bacharach last February at the Blue Note in Milan, the singer has continued to widen her horizon of artistic collaborations, always ready to let out her extraordinary potential as a singer which has âalways been in love with jazz and black musicâ. This the connection and relevance of her presence on stage with J.A.B., band which during the past JazzAscona editions has been widely and loudly appreciated by the public, will present us with a repertoire that revisits all of the black music, from funk to soul, going through R&B.
