White Range Open Cut Gold Mine was a marginal operation at the best of times, extracting low yields of gold from vast quantities of rock. The mine is basically abandoned as uneconomic at present. The legacy is a trashed mountain range, huge amounts of contaminated spoil, and abandoned equipment strewn around. Near the Arltunga Historical Reserve, east of Alice Springs in the Northern Territory of Australia.
This composite was made from 4 images. The front was lit with a 580 EX II gelled blue and the color temp. set to 2500k. Three images were used to blend the light level to where I wanted it. The stalker was lit with a 580 EX II gelled red.
Not a color swap or channel swap. Composite image. Brightness from the normal picture. Color from the UV/IR difference.
I'm not sure if the colors can be said to have come from one kind of light but I'm sure most of this is caused by invisible light. Infrared and a little bit of UV. At least UV-A
Lens was a Tokina 100mm Macro stopped down to ƒ/16
This is a #composite of 3 different images: Sky and #sunset from #Florida, dunes from Bethany #beach and the #balloon from #balloonfest in #Syracuse. Combined them all in #photoshop and used #Lightroom for the final touches.
