The XMC-3311 is a key component in Spectrum's series of software defined digital radio modules from the flexCommâ„¢ wireless communications product line. The XMC-3311 has dual input 12-bit A/D converters and a single output 14-bit D/A converter, each running at up to 213.33 MSPS in a single-width VITA 42.0 XMC form factor. The ADCs and DAC are integrated with a single user programmable Xilinx Virtex-4 LX100, LX160, or SX55 FPGA device for wide bandwidth signal processing and filtering in the digital domain.
The module can also be used as an Enhanced PMC (ePMC) module. The ePMC standard is fully compatible with IEEE P1386.1 PMC standard but offers the additional benefit of dedicated rapid Solano~links between ePMC compliant carrier and mezzanine modules. Data can also be transferred over PCI, which provides the control path.

For 10 years employees of Integral Components Inc., a family-run business in Westminster, Md., boxed care packages for deployed service members. In the past four years they've concentrated on Maryland National Guard units. On Nov. 16, 2012, 180 boxes were packed for four Maryland units and one active duty Air Force unit.
"It makes me happy that we're blessed with the ability to do this," said Russ Keiser, vice president of sales for Integral Components Inc. "Hopefully this is the last year we send overseas in Afghanistan. We could bring them [service members] happiness stateside."

Critical components of bioreactors are two water control structures. The structure at the inlet side (shown here) intercepts a field tile line to funnel the water through the bioreactor, and allow overflow to bypass the bioreactor when needed. Rolls-Royce Merlin basic component overview:-
CYLINDERS: Twelve cylinders consisting of high-carbon steel liners set in two, two-piece cylinder blocks of cast ''R.R.50'' aluminium alloy having separate heads and skirts. Wet liners, ie. coolant in direct contact with external face of liners. Cylinder heads fitted with cast-iron inlet valve guides, phosphor bronze exhaust valve guides, and renewable ''Silchrome'' steel-alloy valve seats. Two diametrically opposed spark plugs protrude into each combustion chamber.
PISTONS: Machined from ''R.R.59'' alloy forgings, fully floating hollow gudgeon pins of hardened nickel-chrome steel. Three compression and one oil-control ring above the gudgeon pin, and one oil-control ring below.
CONNECTING RODS: H-section machined nickel-steel forgings, each pair consisting of a plain and a forked rod. The forked rod carries a nickel-steel bearing block which accommodates steel-backed lead-bronze-alloy bearing shells. The ''small-end'' of each rod houses a floating phosphor bronze bush.
CRANSHAFT: One-piece, machined from a nitrogen-hardened nickel-chrome molybdenum steel forging. Statically and dynamically balanced. Seven main bearings and six throws.
CRANKCASE: Two aluminium-alloy castings joined together on the horizontal centreline. The upper portion bears the wheelcase, supercharger and accessories; and carries the cylinder blocks, crankshaft main bearings (split mild-steel shells lined with lead bronze alloy) and part of the housing for the airscrew reduction gear. The lower half forms an oil sump and carries the oil pumps and filters.
WHEELCASE: Aluminium casting fitted to rear of crankcase. Houses drives to the camshafts, magnetos, coolant and oil pumps, supercharger, hand and electric starters, and the electric generator.
VALVE GEAR: Two inlet and two exhaust poppet valves of ''K.E.965'' steel per cylinder. Both the inlet and exhaust valves have hardened ''stellited'' ends; while the exhaust valves also have sodium-cooled stems, and heads protected with a ''Brightray'' (nickel-chromium) coating. Each valve is kept closed by a pair of concentric coil-springs. A single, seven-bearing camshaft, located on the top of each cylinder head operates 24 individual steel rockers; 12 pivoting from a rocker shaft on the inner, intake side of the head to actuate the exhaust valves, the others pivoting from a shaft on the exhaust side of the head to actuate the inlet valves.

Soldiers, Sailors and Marines from across Active Duty and Reserve Components on Fort Benning and in the surrounding community converged December 4-7 to compete for the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge. One of a handful of authorized foreign awards, the badge is highly coveted for wear on the US military dress uniform. Qualifying for the badge requires proficiency in physical training, swimming, marksmanship and completion of a 12 mile ruck march. Soldiers and Drill Sergeants from the 98th Training Division (IET) not only competed for the GAFPB, but also lent their administrative, operational and instructional skills to the execution and planning of the event in coordination with the 1-46th Infantry Regiment. Congratulations to those who made the competition a success, and to those who have now earned the right to wear the badge!
En el municipio de Uribia (La Guajira), se llevó a cabo la segunda feria de inclusión productiva, en la que indÃgenas wayús, beneficiarios del programa IRACA de Prosperidad Social, mostraron los resultados de las huertas comunitarias en el marco del componente de seguridad alimentaria, y diferentes productos como resultado de los proyectos productivos apoyados por el programa.
En el evento se expusieron diferentes productos con el fin de diversificar la oferta de acuerdo con las necesidades e intereses de los empresarios, y en lÃnea con las dinámicas del mercado como mochilas, chinchorros, hamacas, sombreros, guaireñas, ponchos y caminos de mesa.
“Generar este espacio de acercamiento con las comunidades étnicas nos permite materializar relaciones de confianza, que no es solo narrativa, esto genera acciones. Esta es una muestra de que sà es posible que se trabaje por un mejor paÃs. Más allá de que se concreten negocios, el hecho de exponer en escena los productos de nuestros emprendedores, es un paso que abre oportunidades de negocio", afirmó la subdirectora de Programas y Proyectos de Prosperidad Social, Ana MarÃa Palau.
El propósito de la feria fue articular la integralidad de las dimensiones sociales, económicas y medioambientales para la erradicación de la pobreza, con medidas que abarcan diferentes esferas donde se aprovechan al máximo las capacidades y los recursos a través de polÃticas que impactan y reduzcan la pobreza en Colombia.
"El programa IRACA es una luz para muchas familias que hoy estamos presentes en este espacio donde podemos mostrar nuestro gran potencial. La cultura es un pilar para el desarrollo de nuestras comunidades y gracias a Prosperidad Social hemos hecho patria. Sentimos la presencia del Estado", dijo Alicia Montiel, autoridad espiritual Piachii de Riohacha, que hace parte de los 1.200 beneficiarios del programa. ​
“Estas actividades son el reflejo de la transversalidad e impacto de los programas de la entidad, orientados a alcanzar los grandes retos en superación de pobreza establecidos para este cuatrienio: lograr que 1,5 millones de personas superen la pobreza extrema, que 2,9 superen la pobreza monetaria y 2,5 millones superen la pobreza multidimensional", afirmó Palau.​
Esta feria fomentó la creación de oportunidades de negocio con el objetivo de visibilizar los productos que son cultivados y trabajados por colombianos que están superando sus condiciones de vulnerabilidad.
A través del programa IRACA, Prosperidad Social realiza una intervención rural integral con enfoque diferencial, con proyectos de seguridad alimentaria y fomento de prácticas productivas, que permite empoderar a las comunidades en su propio desarrollo. La población atendida son los hogares o comunidades étnicas indÃgenas y afrodescendientes.​
