It's silent from the outside so no one would hear me, but the fans do buzz inside the mask. Probably won't be a big deal.
I may put a piece of cardboard in front to make sure the fans don't get hit.
Mia is my first MIO kit and she is my 3rd attempt at customizing. She has beautiful bright blue KiraKiraMeansSparkle eye chips. And I'm so excited to finally have her all put together. I might add a few finishing touches but she is mostly done :)
HL2 Metrocop Helmet. This is a view of the completed pepakura gluing. Hard to tell from the photo but the mask is a bit lopsided. Next time I'd be more careful with the gluing to make sure everything lines up well.
I have never quilted before, so this was my first attempt at hand binding. I may redo it, not sure yet. However, I have to thank my daughter for recommending the binding color. It is perfect! Thanks, Jess!
The base completed and assembled. The silver twigs have been coloured with sulphur to give them a fairly natural appearance.
Though these look gargantuan, they are really only pints, I promise.

A hiking holiday in the Cairngorms which hits all the top spots on the hit list for visitors to Scotland: a bit of culture (castles and whisky); a bit of wildlife (badgers and the reclusive pine martens) and memorable days out immersed in the Scottish landscape.
This is a picture of the finished Magic Wanda puppet.
The finished puppet was highly flexible (having been made entirely from latex and polyurethane foam), with a cavity at the back of the head to move the mouth and posable wire-armature fingers.
All yesterday evening was spent filing the saddle curves manually with a half round hand file and an oval shaped jeweler's file. The final dimensions were turned on the lathe tonight after some touch up filing with the needle file under power rotation. Only files have been used - no abrasives. The file finish is more than adequate since the surface will be bead blasted for painting.

End of Day Two: A nice clean surface, ready for brush painting. Since I will be using acrylics, if there are problems, I should be able to wipe them off without having to start over from scratch.
I could have undercoated his coat and pants in colors approximating the final colors, but that was going to be at least twice as much work to mask off and paint - and if I change my mind on the color scheme, it's easy to switch.
For that matter, I probably could have just spray-painted a green coat and blue pants on him and called it done, but I can do better than that.
As much masking tape as I used, I don't know how the red overspray got on his elbow. Eh, no biggie.
His eyes worked out okay.
As it turns out, the soft edge between the two components of the upper camoflauge pattern probably isn't accurate (and would be far too pronounced for this scale, even if it were) but I reckon it looks nice.
Work finally completed on additional frac sand silos in te CSX Benwood Yard. Winter working conditions made for a extended building process.
