I acquired this from an antique garage sale. $50 and its in mint shape with no pages missing, translated from the original languages that the scrolls were written in, it has explanations, pictures and references...quite astonishing...
After 2 plus weeks of laborious work, the famous Highland Park Pansy Bed is complete. It's not the easiest subject to get a picture of.
Nel got her faceup! And lo and behold she even got eyelashes! Can't remember the last time any of my kids had eyelashes put on any of the faceups Kearsy has done. I can never find ones. Or maybe I'm just too lazy to look, they just need to bite me in the butt.
Kearsy also helped me find some new eyes for her. They're not as bright as the green she'd had before, and they are just acrylics, but they're nice acrylics. I just need to figure out how to style her hair so it isn't always draped in front of her face.
Teens used Sharpie markers, rubbing alcohol, rubber bands, and plastic cups to create bandanas and t-shirts.
I got everything sealed up and now it's fully functional. I'd like to do a better job of securing the board inside, as well as the battery needs a little less wiggle room so it's not moving around so much, but I got the job done! Another thing I noticed after the fact was that I had mounted the switch in the opposite direction from what logic would dictate. Live and learn!
Press release says "one of only three women to play in the Negro Leagues," but announcer at game said something along the lines of 1 of 3 female pitchers.

Here is the complete, working circuit. Two things to note: I replaced the 5-lug terminal strip with a three lug. The lamp I’m using runs on 110v AC, but requires a current limiting resistor. It specified a 20kΩ, but this was too dim for the jewel I’m using. I’m using a 6.8kΩ instead. We’ll see how long that lasts. I have a spare.
The completed ensemble.
The little Ponyos have safety pins glued on to the back of them. One was attached to her dress( she's holding it even though it's attached lol) and the other was attached to the bucket which also has a piece of felt glued onto it so we could pin Ponyo to it.
You can't see them, but she is wearing cute little white bloomers just like Ponyo.
No one knew who she was suppose to be, but she did and she LOVED it.
I am so happy to have this quilt finished before the end of the year. Here is my "Envy" quilt - thank you ladies for all your contributions. Machine quilted.
